Editorial Review for Hemline – by Andrea Loera
In Short
This crisp and uncluttered boutique from New Orleans welcomes shoppers in search of the season's most stylish women's fashions. From elegant night-out looks to laid-back weekend wear, the Village Arcade store is a favorite for local gals in the know. Look for designer jean lines, straight-from-the-runway dresses and separates by Parameter, Charles David, Custo, wraps from Diane von Furstenberg and Loop bags, among other browseable items. Hemline provides pieces that are more effortless stylish than trendy.

Before this week, I was a huge Hemline fan. The two times that I have made it to the Woodlands (it is over an hour from my home) I made a point to stop by the boutique, each time allowing myself to spend waaaay too much money on adorable little dresses and shoes. The last time I went there, about 3 weeks ago, I accidentally left a a pair of my favorite diamond earings as I was trying on a new pair. A few days later, upon the realization of my forgetfulness, I called the store. A very sweet young lady informed me that they were found and since I lived to far away she would put them in an envelope with my name on it for me to get them when I could. About 2 and a half weeks later, after I found someone to get my earings, I called again to let them know. The manager then informed me that my earings were nowhere to be found and that she would call me "IF" they ever found them, with no apologies or sincereties towards me as the customer, just a "tough luck" attitude. After not receiving a call a couple days later, I called again to inquire. Once again I was speaking to the manager, with whom you would expect to receive great customer courtesy considering you are Hemline is a fairly high-end boutique. Instead, I was treated with absolutely NO respect by the manager, who argued with me saying that in no way are they going to apoligize for misplacing the earings, and told that they are a disorganized store with teenagers working there so "anything" could have happened to them. I am fully aware that I left my earings there, and I am also fully aware that "accidents happen" (as the manager stated to me, which is as much as an apology I received). However, when you go into a nice store and drop about $500 on a dress and pair of earings each time you go, I would at the least expect some sort of courtesy and and maybe even just a little kindness towards the customer. So, in conclusion I would not recommend going to this store and will surely never return.

Ask for Blair or Amy. Blair is the manager and she knows what shes talking about. Bottom line. This girl will work with you as if shes known you for years and will choose the best things for you without making your wallet shrink. Amy is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet and has a great knowledge of designers and other places that carry them. If she cant find your size in a item from a designer they carry, she can tell exactly where to find it. Anywhere that carries Free People, BCBG, Cynthia Steffe, MEK Jeans, and Charles David Shoes all at the same time is definitely a place worth checking out! I discovered this shop 2 months ago and I've been back 5 times. I know there are other sales girls, but Blair and Amy are my favorite to shop with and I will continue shopping here.
Pros: Variety of Designers
Cons: I wont say their return policy like the others because I dont mind store credit. In fact I agree with the other user you said "dont shop here if you want your money back on your card"
