Best Bloody Mary's in Town. I have been to Beavers 2 times so far (after a referral from a friend) and am afraid that I have discovered my new addiction; Bloody Mary's. The first time we went was on a Saturday and ended up ordering their original Bloody Mary, which was phenomenal... Then we went back on a Sunday and surprisingly discovered the secret (or at least it was to us) special Bloody Mary menu which began the start of my addiction...The Bacon Infused Bloody Mary special is ridiculously good and they only serve them on Sundays! Thank goodness they don't serve them throughout the week or I would be in big trouble.

One other thing....the dude with the long hair was the funniest server I think I have ever encountered....if you see a pony tail, ask to sit in his section!

Never had anything less than awesome. I had wanted to go to Beavers for a few months, when I finally went a few weeks ago, and I keep coming back.

I have tried the Big A$s po-boy, amazing, and i am a po-boy snob... I have also tried the texa-quillas for brunch with one of their amazing Bloody Mary's (mine was made with tequila, but the bacon bloody mary was also great).. I have most recently had the brisket tacos, they were unbelievable, light but filling, and came with a salad that was also great. I also had the their House Punch with some friends.

Everytime I have been I have had amazing service, the wait-staff is fun and they have a great personalities. I can't wait to go back, and bring friends back with me...

The Mac & Cheese is amazing, get it with whatever you order, it is so worth it!

Beaver Makes You Happy. I was having a reunion with some of my friends from college and jumped at the chance to visit more places located on Washington. I had always heard that Washington Avenue was a haven for young and employed professionals and was looking for a new scene to check out.

I can say that Beaver's is a lively place that fosters community dining and creativity. Mixed drinks like: the marigold, the cherry limeaid, blueberry, and the hard punch definitely made me like this place. The Knocked UP was simply heavenly and the Nut Burger was a welcomed, and unique change from any burger that I have ever eaten. The only downside to this place is the service. Waiters forgot orders and tool long times to get drinks even at non peak hours. I might give this place a second chance, that is, if I can find a place to park...

InCREDible. My wife and I are vegetarians. We had checked out the menu online and thought we would give it a try. The BBQ Tofu and the Beaver Nut Burger are outstanding. So many different flavors. For a drink, my wife ordered the Forecast, and asked for the rim to be salted. I'm not a fan of vodka based drinks, usually, but the habanero infused vodka is wonderful. I tried the Smoky Julep, which is also very good. Beaver's also has a long list of quality beers. We had no problems with service whatsoever. Is tomorrow too soon to go back...?

Not worth it!. Way over priced for BBQ in Texas. Plenty of BBQ joints in Houston serve better BBQ for a quarter of the price. The seating is set up so you get to have dinner with complete strangers. I don't mind the picnic table atmosphere that you might find at GoodeCompany , but this place wants to charge you $30 a pop.

Horrible service, food okay but overpriced. First time I went to Beaver’s was a couple weekends ago on a Saturday afternoon. The place was moderately crowded but not packed. Just went for drinks on the porch. We were seated at a dirty table (bottles, trash, etc.). The waitress new we were there and we got her attention a few times but it still was twenty minutes without a drink order. We gave up and left. It wasn't worth complaining to someone as I wasn't going to give them any money after that delay.

Being the optimist that I am I decided to try Beaver’s for lunch with some coworkers yesterday. We got there at 11:30 and the place was pretty much dead. There were maybe 4 tables plus ourselves. It took too long to be seated. The waitresses kept switching who was serving us. It took 15 minutes to put in an order, another 30 minutes to get our meals, and another 15+ to get the check after requesting it multiple times. We finally got out of there about 12:40. The service was way too slow for the weekday business crowd.

On the plus side the food was good. I liked the fried chicken, juicy with a nice spicy skin. The chocolate chip pie was pretty good too. However, I had to eat it at the office as it took forever to get in and out of that place. The others enjoyed their meals and thought they were good (not great) but not worth the price for lunch.

All said and done, I won’t be going back here unless they beef up the service.

Too Proud. Granted, he's a good chef. But he's just too proud with the prices. We went for lunch one day. We were greeted after 10 minutes of standing there, and got seated outside finally.

The menu's we were given had no prices. After getting sick of having the waiter run off after asking what each item was, we just ordered.

I had a rack of ribs (which were tiny, no meat on these things) a side of potato salad and a side of coleslaw. I had no alcoholic drinks. I paid 32 dollars for my meal.

No thanks.

Could be a fun place. I would not recommend this place unless the service and cleanliness improved. The prices are a little high for bad service. I noticed some employees eating and drinking on the job. This is disturbing. This place had a fun atmosphere but all these negatives make it not worth going to.

DOUCHE HQ?. JULY 15,2009 BEAV'S WAS HOST TO A REDBULL PARTY. IF YOU LIKE TO PARTY LIKE A RETARD THIS MIGHT BE FOR YOU. OF IF YOU LIKE ED HARDY OR AFFLICTION BRANDS YOU WILL LOVE THIS DOUCHE-TINATION. THE BBQ SUCKED. HOW EXACTLY DO YOU DRY OUT A PULLED PORK SHOULDER? THE BRISKET WAS FLAVORLESS. IT HAD A GOOD SMOKE RING BUT NO FLAVOR. THEY USED THE "TEXAS CRUTCH" TECHNIQUE. SMOKE FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS WRAP IN FOIL AND FINISH IN OVEN. THAT STEAMS ALL THE FLAVOR OUT. THE RIBS WERE JUST MARGINAL. THEY USED TO BE GREAT. SKIP THIS PLACE FOR AWHILE. MAYBE THEY WILL REMEMBER GOOD FOOD BROUGHT THEM HERE NOT THE THIRTY THOUSAND DOLLAR A YEAR MILLIONAIRES ON THE PATIO.

Amended Review...Beaver's reedems. Went back to Beavers to give the resturant a second try and it was much better! They have some pretty amazing cocktails (try the Opal Smash) and the BBQ was quite good. I think the trick is knowing what to oder. We will return!
