I really want to like this place...great location, never a wait.. There is a reason there is no wait, service is the worst in the area! Drinks are non alcoholic , but expensive. A $9.00 top shelf rita has less alcohol than a $3.00 reg frozen anywhere else. Party of 6 adults and 3 kids and everyone's food comes out at different times! Fajita plate comes out with no sizzle at all.. I will say 4 years ago when we moved to this area it was much better. It has steadily gone down hill over the years, and last sat night was my last trip!!! If u want to drink $50.00 worth of drinks and not get a buzz, bad service, and a couple notches above taco bell or ponchos food... Look no further marina's is ur place.
Great neighborhood restaurant – We have been going to Marina's for years now. They know us by name. Always a pleasant experience. Recently I have gone on a diet. They have gone out of their way to cook low fat, delicious meals for me. Blackened tilapia topped with shrimp and fresh pico de gallo. Grilled zucchini on the side. Absolutely fantastic. And my fiance will get beef chipolte anything. $2 Tecates everyday, all day long. We love the fact that we hardly ever have to wait for a table.
GREAT Experience! – We go here often enough that they know how we like our margaritas and that we generally split our fish tacos (which are the best we have ever had). I always order fresh steamed broccoli.....which is nice that a Mexican restaurant actually will cook fresh broccoli for a guest. We took a friend with us the other day and they ordered the Shrimp en Brochette (they call it Shrimp Diablo) and it was incredible.....the shrimp were huge and cooked perfectly. I love having a neighborhood restaurant that doesn't just serve the standard run of the mill Mexican food. They really go out of their way to make every time we eat there a little more enjoyable. If you have an opportunity - you really should give this little gem a try.
What a great experience! – We called ahead with a group of 15 on the patio - everything was setup perfectly and ready to go when we arrived (even though they were packed). Everyone loved the salsa....it's got the perfect amount of heat!
The best dishes at the table - Shrimp Diablo and Fish Tacos were the biggest hit.
We have them serve everything family style so we can pass the plates around - I know it's kind of odd, but it works for our friends and family - and the plates were beautiful and we were VERY well taken care of.
We tried all the ritas - but especially loved the Coronarita (it's a frozen rita with an actual Corona bottle in it....wish I could post a pic on here....just the coolest thing ever.)
The owners both made appearances and checked on our table - they were making the rounds and greeting the entire patio.
My parents loved the birds....they got both of them to talk!!
Oh yes.....without question.....the best flour tortillas EVER!!!!!
Best Spot Around!! – We live right behind Marinas and have for several years. Initially when they opened they had some issues, but they are so far past that now! What an amazing job for the two owners.
We typically drink their premium ritas - they use this one tequila in their moonlight margaritas (can't recall the name) that is outstanding. They are without question the best margaritas that we've had in the area.
My wife switches between the stuffed avocado (which once you've had this one all other pale in comparison...) and the fish tacos which are amazing. My personal favorite is the tilapia dish....and I have them throw a few shrimp on top of it.
The wait staff is always so pleasant even when they're rushing around....
I'm so happy we have such a great local spot that we can hang out at....and I can't say it enough - the patio is incredible!
Food, Margarita's and Service Sucked! Nice Patio – We made reservations for a large group on the patio. It was a nice relaxing setting. We will never go back.
There was supposed to be 2 servers, only ever saw one.
The pitcher of margarita's was sour, like a whiskey sour not a normal taste. The server said named off this huge concoction of mix including Everclear, which I totally doubt because I drank 1/2 a pitcher and did not feel much of a buzz.
The food was poor quality.
And finally best of all the rest rooms were filthy and they were out of soap. The hostess said, "yeah we are out of soap." Isn't that a health code violation? Secondly, there is a f_cking CVS next door, go buy some soap!
GREAT SERVICE & GREAT FOOD – I love going to this place - this weekend (since it was so cold) the owners made chili and cornbread as one of the specials...my wife had that and it was AWESOME. I had their brisket tacos - which I love brisket and this is some of the best I've ever had....no covered up with so much BBQ sauce that you couldn't taste the food....they were amazing! Oh yeah - we LOVE their fried mushrooms and jalapeno chip....
There's nothing not to love about this place - always clean - always friendly - always good and priced right for people watching their dining out budget.
Excellent Service and Great Food – My family just moved across the street and this place is amazing! The service is excellent and the food is remarkable!! We have been over half a dozen times and every time we keeping getting wow'd by the place. The patio is excellent - and on Saturday they have live bands on the patio. They have a stuffed avocado that is absolutely out of this world good....and there's just enough spice in all their dishes (though I tried the Habanero wings and they were incredibly spicy....but I ate them all).
They're VERY family friendly and offer a wide variety of food to please basically everyone....
This is our gem in the burbs....and the kids love the birds on the patio!!
Best Neighborhood Place Around – I absolutely LOVE this restaurant. I live across the street and the kids and I go here at least 3 times a week. The staff is always friendly and the food is wonderful. How many Mexican restaurants do you know that serve peanut butter and jelly on a kids meal? Their menu includes pretty much everything - including old fashioned hamburgers....old fashioned meaning they make them by hand - they don't use a preformed frozen hamburger patty. The kids love the curly fries and I always get steamed broccoli....yeah fresh steamed broccoli!
The service has always been outstanding - the waitresses know me by name and know how I like my margarita! The kids love their homemade banana pudding too.
It is without question one of the best neighborhood spots to go and hang out and enjoy an amazing meal!
Oh yeah - the kids love the birds on the patio!!
Terrible Service and Management – We went to this restaurant last night and when our food was brought out we noticed an insect came out with it and got on the table. We called the manager over and showed him, he laughed and took the insect away without apologizing or saying anything. He acted like it was no big deal. We waited a few minutes and he never returned. The waitress apologized, but the manager never returned so we decided to leave and told the waitress we were going. After we were in the parking lot the owner approached us and asked us to pay the bill. I was shocked! We had not even eaten anything, not to mention the insect at our table. He proceeded to threaten us with "theft of service" and argue in front of kids and everyone. He commented that this was common and was no big deal. At the other resteraunts I have been too this was not common, and if there was any type of problem, they were quick to rectify the situation. I was very disappointed at the way the situation was handled and would not recommend this place to anyone.
