We arrived without a reservation about 6pm on a Saturday night(06/02/12) â?? leaving us to dine in the bar which was fine; our waiter was awesome and showed great patience with a talkative 9 year old in our group. Dinner was delicious and was delivered quickly to our table. There are a few areas where fine tuning are in order for this restaurant to rate the prices they charge. My pasta came quickly and hot; however it was missing the shrimp I added to the dish. The shrimp arrived as I was finishing my dinner and were tasty, but at $7.95 to add Shrimp I had expected more than 3 very small shrimp. If asked if you would like to â??addâ?? a salad to your meal be advised they bill the full menu price of $10. Iâ??m not about to write this place off yet â?? going back next time we are on the Island and hoping that the â??kinksâ?? have been worked out. A must try from this menu is the Shrimp Kisses, these alone would have me going back and if you can plan it go at Sunset doâ?? they donâ??t lie this is a beautiful location to see the sun go down.
AWFUL! It takes an hour to get served and that's only because we had to talk to the manager. Then, the food order was all incorrect. In addition, they charged us $5.95 for a side salad which was supposed to have been in lieu of french fries. The manager never offered a comp. He screamed at me and asked ME what I wanted as a comp. Then, he brought us a plate of steamed green beans after we had totally finished all of our meals. The pasta with the grilled shrimp did not come together. The pasta came first. When my friend was just about finished eating, then they brought her a plate with the grilled shrimp on it. Mashed potatoes were served as a comp on another friend's dish. He did not ask for these. He could not eat these on his diet. Later, when we reported that he did not ask for the potatoes, we were told this was the comp! My friends and I have eaten at many places in our lives and we have never ever been treated or should I say neglected in such a disrespectful way. Our husbands are veterans and we were celebrating Memorial Day. We could hardly wait to get out of there. We were furious and it ruined the day for us.
Editorial Review. Patrons dine on surf and turf while looking out on the sunset over Galveston Bay and Lake Como at this locally owned seafood mainstay.
