In Short – Les Givral's Vietnamese baguette sandwiches and entrees are an alternative for mainstream diners who may be more accustomed to American-style ham and cheese. This casual and busy restaurant serves fresh meat and veggie sandwiches, noodle soups, vermicelli and rice dishes, spring rolls and other Vietnamese specialties. The decor is simple and modern, giving the dining room a subtle atmosphere to complement a casual business lunch or a weekend dinner with friends.

My fiance and I constantly drive in from Cypress to eat here. The sandwiches are truly delicious. I have tried the vermicelli too and it was spectacular. The best part is it is all very reasonably priced and the staff is great!
- Pros: Great food and staff
- Cons: none
Best deal for a Great price...

I come here at least once a week to enjoy this great place. The food is simply delicious. I'm working my way around the menu and I haven't found anything I didn't like. I just discovered the Rice Sheets. These things are awesome. Will be coming back. Heard a Washington spot is opening up. Can't wait since I live around the corner. Downtown for lunch, Washington for dinner. Perfection!
Best Vietnamese, even for a Cat!

BuddhaCat says every place has good days and bad days...don't be hatin on places if you arrive on one of the restuarants bad days - stuff happens and sometimes people run out of things (this is for that person who thinks they are Fiorucci, you are no Fiorucci!). BuddhaCat says try a little of everything...find what you like and what you don't. BuddhaCat says this is the only way to reach pure epicurious harmony! Bun is good for the chi, Pho is good for the soul, and the BanhMi, well that sandwich, any flavor, will kick all other sandwich buddha-butts out of the sea! Wise word from BuddhaCat - go again and make peace with your inner Epicurean...Buddha will rain harmony and Mr. Brown from above for all! Eat, Drink and be Meow-y!
- Pros: Great to people watch, great ambiance and food
- Cons: People who cannot read the self serve signs
Great Food. Great Value. Great Atmosphere.

Les Grival's has become a weekly destination for me. I work a good nine blocks away, but the food quality, great value, and very clean, nice ambiance of the restaurant make it worth the trek. The owner is very friendly and accomodating, and I have never had issues with the overall service. I have taken co-workers and friends who have felt the same. Would recommend to anyone looking for good Vietnamese cuisine in downtown at a great price.
- Pros: Great Food. Great Prices. Great Ambience. Great Service.
- Cons: Wish it was closer to my work, but still worth the trip....
Please, do yourself a favor, travel a few minutes

If you want decent Banh Mi, decent Viet noodles and decent good food overall, do yourself a favor and don't settle for Givral's on Congress. My recent visit with a Viet friend found them really, really lacking, especially compared to what you get a few minutes away in Midtown.
1) Out of pate...before the afternoon, announced when my sandwich arrived 2) Saw-dust dry pork on sandwiches and salad 3) no condiments at the tables or common areas 4) tough-girl attitude at counter, like I couldn't care less 5) cold ( I mean cold...not room temp) noodles served with salad 6) they used to be friendly...now they are scowling robotic figures....feel sorry for those who like this place.
You tell me...has something changed here? You'd be way happier going to the Givrals on Milam, Cali Sandwich, NG Restaurant on Milam, Thien An on Travis, Thiem Hung (Leeland?)...there are so many good Viet stops, that thinking this one is good just proves how out of touch you are.
- Pros: Convenient, if you're stuck downtown, there
- Cons: Food subpar, service with a growl, just blase
