Embarrassed 3-7-2010. I had some business partners come to The Woodlands for the weekend, and they had me select our place for dinner. I selected Kirby's, since it had been years since I dined there.....BIG MISTAKE. Was I embarrassed.

Our server was horrible! Took forever to get to our table; gave us a menu and drink menu...said be right back.....(tick tock, tick tock!) We were an easy table of 5. When the server did make it back to the table.....Her first sentence was an excuse!

We finally had the opportunity to order our meal......After waiting ---then it took roughly 45 minutes to get our main course. At one point (after 30 minutes) she came and told us "the kitchen" is really backed up tonight and your food will be another 15 minutes. One of the steaks was the Wrong order....but with the pain of waiting, just went with it...Plus some of the food was not warm......

I have waited tables and I am sympathic to a crazy night; but if things are going bad......fix it! Send a manager over--- or comp. a drink.....Tell us the desert is on us.....

All I can say---I was embarrassed and my dining at Kirbys in The Woodlands is done! There are a nice variety of restuarants within a few miles of that location..

Next time you are thinking Kirbys---Skip it!

wonderful food, great service. We go there every year for our anniversary (and other times as well). We have never been disappointed. We've eaten at every steakhouse in Houston. This is the best. I'm not sure how they do it, but the filets are so tender, they melt in your mouth. They always have new items on the menu, but we tend to gravitate to the things we've had. We had one unpleasant encounter with another customer and the staff handled it so expertly, we were amazed. We love this place.

Awesome!. We've been many times and the food, service & ambience is great! The best Maryland Crake Cakes in the area. Awesome mushroom risotto and they will also make a lobster risotto when resquested thats great also.

It was OK. We were seated just fine. However the waiter didn't bring our water till we flagged him down. The service stayed on that same level for the whole night. The food was great just took forever. We had bad seats so it really wasn't romantic seating next to the bathroom entrance. It was kind of boring to tell the truth. Better places to eat.

Not worth the drive. After we were greeted and seated as expected the experience took a different turn. To begin the room was so dark you could barely make out the menu (I suppose this was ambience). Then after an enthusiastic recommendation of our waiter I tried the "House Special" soup that was supposedly made fresh daily. After an extended wait for the "special soup" it arrived cold and totally tasteless. I waited and waited for our waiter but he did not even follow up to see if his recommendation was a good one and when told that the soup was cold and tasteless he offered no apology and simply took it away (we were not charged for it). Next came the entrée and sides; the sides were not good at all but the steak was above average. We have had better steaks and certainly better service at other places.

Talk About a Debacle!. We chose Kirby's to celebrate my son's college graduation. MISTAKE! They confirmed our reservation in a room we chose, the morning of, then the bimbo hostess gave the room away to some "high school prom kids" right before we arrived. We waited 40 min for a table -- cold food, long wait -- DON'T GO THERE! Fugedaboudit! Don't bother with reservations, as they don't respect them!

kirbys. must try one of the many appetizers. oysters esplinade to die for. the service was great. flavorful steaks cooked to perfection. would recomend anyone to this fabulous steakhouse.
