Please read before making an appointment!. PLEASE BEWARE, this salon may have a couple of hairstylists that are worth seeing, however, the salon as a whole is a very unprofessional place to do business. One of the owners, Greg, is the most unprofessional businessman, has no concern at all for clients (even long term clients) of the salon and will snap in a blink of an eye. From what I was always told, Greg's ownership of the salon is apparently on the hair side of the business, while the other partner is on the business side of the business. There is no question that it should remain that way, as he has no idea how to run a business with any professionalism. Unfortunately, he steps in to the business side and, in turn, loses clients because of it. When I received a service there that was less than what i was asking for, I requested to come back and have it fixed. Out of the blue, Greg completely flew off the handle (in the most unprofessional manner) and, not only rejected my request, but screamed on the phone, had no interest in listening to what I, the client had to say, and actually hung up on me, mid sentence. We all work hard for our money, and spending any money in this salon will not only benefit your hairdresser, but ultimately, will benefit Greg, and he does not deserve a cent! This type of business thrives and succeeds on customer service and word of mouth, especially in a city like Houston. There is no way, with an owner like this, this business will grow and succeed to its fullest potential with ownership involving Greg. After speaking to another client of Azur, as well as a couple of their employees, this situation was not an isolated event, in fact, they said this is nothing unusual for Greg's behavior and how he has treated clients in the past (on several different occasions). There are many great upscale salons in Houston that offer not only great services, but excellent customer service as well! Find another salon before investing any of your time and money with Azur!!!…
Horrible receptionist. The service and products is standard, definitely not upscale. The receptionists are rude and snobby. they put me on hold for 5-7 minutes twice. I requested information about a product and never received a call back from them after having called them more than three times to remind them.…
First impressions are everything!. I called to book an appointment because I was interested in an ombré type look for my hair. (nothing drastic just wanted a subtle difference in the color change) I asked the receptionist who she would recommend for this treatment, her response was: "that's not even in style anymore" long pause......! Are you kidding me? Who are you to tell me what in style and not in style? Especially over the phone when not even fully understanding what I want. NOT GETTING MY BUSINESS! Horrible customer service and bad attitude will not get you new clients.…
You like purple hair?.
Yesterday was, quite possibly, one of the most expensive and horrifying days I've had in a long time. I went to Azur after reading a lot of really great reviews and decided to ignore the ones that
were negative...if only I had done the opposite.
The salon is nice and the stylist was nice enough. I though I was being very, very specific about what had been done to my hair previously and what I wanted done. I had been blonde and went to a auburn/brown color, that color faded and I wanted a nice dark auburn. I thought he listened to me, and seemed to know exactly what he was doing. Step one ("the filler") went very well, and it was just a shade or two lighter than I wanted to be. I asked once again that we were gonna be dark but not too dark- and made the joke "Just don't dye my hair black!". I had mentioned that my hair had been "accidently" dyed black before and it was a horrible disaster.
WELL GUESS WHAT
I got a lovely black with a nice shade of violet.
I asked the guy who was doing my hair "is it purple? it looks very purple. it's really dark"
his response "oh no! this is not purple! this is what you picked out. its not purple"
After I got done drying it- the stylist next to me gave me this shocked look. I asked "it's purple isn't it?" he said "oh no! it's beautiful. it looks really good on you". but I could see in his eyes that he was horrified.
I quickly got dressed, hoping that maybe it was just my eyes. Everyone in the salon was like "oh its so pretty. do you like it". I didn't say I liked it, I just said it was shocking.
I paid ($235) and unfortunately, I still tipped the guy (I am a huge pushover and probably shouldve raised hell right then and there... instead, I just started crying).
I really hoped that maybe in the sunlight it would look better and I was just being overdramatic.
Nope. Black. Black with a lovely hint of purple.
Now this wouldn't have been such a big deal if I wasn't getting my headshots done on Monday (and Wednesday was my ONLY day off)
Needless to say, I didn't want them to fix it, although I needed to get it fixed immediately but I was afraid they would turn it orange. So I went to another salon out in Sugarland.
"Beauty Indulgence Salon and Spa". The woman there was afraid to kill my hair even more than it already was. Instead of stripping the color from my whole head, she did it in very heavy highlight sections and then took those sections to a lighter brown. Now, my hair still isn't the auburn that I wanted, but it's much better than the black/purple that it was. This cost me another $300 for the corrective color and 4.5 hours of this poor womans time. I will be returning to her, she listened and was completely honest.
Azur does fine color, it just won't be what you want. And when they screw it up, just call Hunan at Beauty Indulgence in Sugarland. She will be there to listen to you and fix it.…
Great Salon, Great People. I have been in Houston for 11 years. I have very fine hair and have never found someone to cut it correctly. That is until I met Cesar. I totally trust his judgement and his styles. I have finally found a place that I will continue to go to.…
