Wonderful Stylist. My review is not so much for the salon, Pure Elegance. My review is for the stylist Melanie Jordan. My mother, my sister and I have followed her to whatever salon she chooses to work in for the last several years. Where Melanie goes, we go. She is, by far, one of the best, most knowledgeable, most professional and absolutely wonderful stylists Houston has to offer. If anyone is looking for a new stylist, I highly recommend Ms. Jordan. You'll not be sorry.

Great service and great results. I have been to Pure Elegance Beauty twice now. Once for hair extensions and once for a makeover. My stylist, Marie St. Rose is simply the best. They will always be my choice in Houston.

Very Nice. I too visited this salon and the people are all very nice, there is an older lady in there that is a little to loud if you ask me but, it appears that the owner have the salon under control.

She is as nice as everyone is saying on here. She did everything to me that I have read on the other reviews.

I am not one to write these reviews but, since my visit to this salon was a direct result of what I read here I thought it's only fair that I write one.

The experience was great. If you are looking for someone to take care of you hair, give her a try.

My hair was shedding and after the very frist visit there was a drastic improvement and it is two months todate since I've been a client and my hair has completely stop shedding.

She is great with updo's too, oh last week she did my updo and make-up for a weddigng and when the bride saw me she wanted to know who did my hair and make-up and wanted to know if I think she would do hers make-up on such short notice?

I called Marie, this is 2 hours before we had to leave for the church and Ms. Marie told her to come and she will take care of her. My friend quickly went to the salon and 45 minutes later her make-up was completely done and flawless.

I really like Marie, she gets you in and out. She reminds me of an old school beautician my mom took my sister and I to when we were teens. Ms. Marie St Rose truly cares for my hair.

I really like her, very professional lady.

The Name Says It All. After being in houston a year with no one to take care of my hair it got quite damaged. Though my hair was managable and i could maintain it on a weekly bases it was damanged beyound my control but the untrained eye couldnt tell. A former co-worker complimented me on my hair but i knew the truth, and in return i complimented her. Her hair not only looked good but it was healthy. By me having thick hair I needed someone to take care of it. She refered me to Marie @ Pure Elegance. Being the person I am I trust no one with my hair so I asked her about her background on being a beautician and she passed with flying colors that was in 2003 here it is 2008 that should say it all. When you walk in you know you have walked into a very professional enviroment. When you leave the result are beyound your expectations.

So Professional and even more knowledgeable.. I moved in the area two years ago and I was told of the salon across the street but I continued to drive on the north side to my hair stylist. Two months ago my car was in the shop and I needed my hair done for a date and reluctantly I visited the salon (Pure Elegance), upon my entering I asked for the owner and a very professional no nonsense looking lady came from the back and introduce herself as Ms. Marie. Well after sitting in her chair for 10 minutes, I was certain that I would not be dissapointed. I scheduled an appointment to return three hours later.

I walked in ten minutes late and Ms. Marie was waiting on me. Oh my, I received a wonderful shampoo and by the completion of my hair being shampooed I knew she was a keeper. Not only is she knowledgeable, she is also a great teacher and expect her clients to do their part away from the salon to maintain the health of their hair. The salon is very nice and the people are very friendly, at times they got a little loud but it seems that each time Ms. Marie looked up people got quiet. I visit the salon every two weeks and I must admit, I am very, very please with the service.

I love my stylist of twelve years and will always have her as back up but with the price of gas on the rise, I am thankful to have met such a professional person to provide me with great service so close to home.

Great Professional. A wonderful teacher.. Pure Elegance is one of the top African American Salons in Houston. I love the people in there. They are very friendly. The Salon is clean and everyone seem very professional.

I use to be know as what salons calls "chair hopper" but since I found Marie I will not let any one else touch my hair.
