excellent the very best hair cuts & service. My best experience, and most welcomed ! the minute I walked in at this salon by the owner ! I have mid length curly hair, that who ever cuts my hair must be very well trained with such. Well !! keep in mind , I am super very picky! but all thumbs up!! to the owner Josie! that did the very best cut ever which took not even 15 minutes, that is the fastest best haircut I have ever had. She was very attentive as I explain what I expected from the cut.

I highly recommend Josie for the picky ,wicky costumer like me! When done I said Wow! looks great! thank you! thank you! I am very satisfied, most certainly! I will come back for my future cuts! I am new in the area just moved from Austin, so glad to have found such a great place walking distance from my apt. So if you are new in town don't hesitate visit MidTown Hair Studio for the best cut! great products, like Aveda, Sebastian and much more.at a very reasonable price. Disregard negative reviews find out yourself trust me you will not regret it !!

Worst Hair Cut I Have Ever Had. I am 25 years old. I went into Midtown Hair studio for a hair cut and asked for medium men's trim, tapered in the back and sides. My past barbers have always told me that my hair has been some of the easiest to cut and for the most part, it is hard to mess up a mediums men trim with hair as straight as mine. It cost $25 which is steep for a guy's haircut, but whatever. When I got home, I noticed that the barber, Josie, created 3 distinct bowl cuts going up my head. I have 3 lines in the back of my head and honestly, it is so short, the only means of salvaging it may be buzzing it off and trying to start from scratch. When I called to ask to talk to the owner to complain, I was informed my barber was the owner. I will never be stepping a foot back into this place. I highly advise any guy thinking of going to this place to try anywhere else. You'll be glad you saved your hair and money.

Update- after calling them to complain, they first offered to have me come in so they could fix it. After letting them know that I would never allow them to cut a hair on my head again, they offered and processed a full refund of my money. I spent twice as much getting another barber to "salvage" my hair cut. He said upon seeing me, "Who did this to you? I don't like to bad mouth any competitor, but honestly- I don't know a single self respecting barber that would allow a client to leave with a hair cut this bad. There are deep holes from uneven clipping that honestly, I don't think I can fix but I'll do my best."

Update- They apparently deleted my review because it didn't reflect kindly on their business. I now know how they got only great reviews on this website. They deleted twice now. In response to the business owner accusations that I am lying about my review- please post a picture of my finished hair cut from your surveillance footage and let your work speak for itself. Though I doubt you will as no one would be proud of that haircut. I have many friends in the service industry and as a force of habit, I tip regardless of service in hope that it may make your service better for the next person in line. In this case though, you are right. I should have refrained from tipping. I did appreciate the full refund and put it as the pro of the visit. The reason I left without asking you to finish is because after the initial cuts, it was obvious that something was wrong, and I decided against better judgement to stay in the seat and let the "professional" finish as I trusted you. But after seeing the finished product, I realized my gut instincts were right and that is why I refused to let you "fix" the damage you had done.

Great experience with new stylist Miya. Went to get my hair cut on Thursday and Miya was my stylist, she took the time to listen to what I wanted to do and make suggestions on what could better suite me and met me in the middle. She was very talkative and made me feel comfortable and will definatly go back soon.

Great haircut on short notice. Miya gave me a fantastic haircut. My haircut is pretty straightforward, but I think she was even better than the usual high-quality cut at Midtown.

I've been going here for a little over a year, and I always get great haircuts. This was my first time seeing Miya, and I always have reservations about getting a haircut from a new person, but Miya was very friendly and gave me a terrific haircut.

Great place for guys who like a no-frills, pleasant experience.

Not just for guys... great cuts and color for ladies too!. I was a little hesitant going in, I was the recipient of a godawful cut and color from a "nicer" place... and then realized a lot of reviews were from guys...

I needed color urgently and a bit of a trim. No waiting for weeks, it was when I wanted to. The color turned out better than at some of the better known places in town. They did exactly what I asked for the trim. Damaris and her mother did an excellent job.

The store was clean, the service was friendly, I was continuously offered beverages, and the price was more than reasonable, considering I received better service here than at one of the more higher priced "spas" in town.

I will never go to another salon again!

Best Hair Salon in Town. I made a hair appointment last minute at the end of the day for a cut and color and they fit me in no problem. We worked out together exactly the type of cut and color I wanted, and they executed it flawlessly.

Just moved to Houston so I'm glad I found this place.

Shannon is great. i recently moved to Houston and met Shannon, I had been going to the same girl ever since coloring my hair so it was hard to switch but I needed my hair done. Shannon is very funny and friendly and I just had a good time when my hair was being done. And my hair looks great, good color and not dry at all. I would highly recommend her to anyone.

Trust Shannon--she's seriously amazing!!!. I just moved here and I felt lost without my hairstylist and I am SO glad I listened when a friend suggested Midtown. Luckily, I stumbled into Shannon's chair and she took great care of me! I wanted a brighter, blonder, more flattering look and I am thrilled with my new hairstyle!! I think I found a new favorite...sorry to my former stylist....but seriously, ladies, GO SEE SHANNON!!

Outstanding Service, Quallity Products, Reasonable Cost. I am a man in my late 40's. I had an important job interview in early January and realized as the date approached that it might be good to get rid of some of the gray in my hair. I called Midtown Hair Studio and they were able to fit me in the same day for a hair color appt. Damaris was great! She carefully selected the color and sought the opinion of her colleagues and I to make sure it was a good match to my natural color. She used high quality Aveda product. No intoxicating fumes and the whole process (hair, mustache and goatee) was completed (start to rinse out) within 30 minutes. I was very pleased with the result! Cost: $40! Damaris trimmed my hair up a bit so I would look my best for the interview. BTW - I got the job! I have found a great place for all of my future hair care needs at Midtown Hair Studio. The quality of customer service was outstanding!
