“Debbie did great service for my hair.”
EXCELLENT results for the JAPANESE thermal Straightening.. I had the japanese thermal Hair straightening done on Saturday at Ming Li Hair Design. The proccess took about four hours, bring a book to read! The service is very professional. It is afforable as compared to sensia, I only paid 200 at mingli. My hair is slighly past my shoulders. I've had this done before at another location, not as great results. The hair stylist that I had ,carefully examined and tested my hair type (thick and wavey) before he started. It is very busy, they have people comming in consistently, so make sure you book your apointments ahead of time.
Get your hair cut by Ming Li because he is gonna be super famous..
Ming Li is an artist. My husband and I have had our hair designed by him for the last 5 years. I sit in his chair, tell him what general length I'd like, then trust that he will make me look fabulous, which he inevitably does. Now that we live out of town, we fly to Houston every 6-8 weeks to have our hair cut by him. (Yes, we are there to see family too, but we schedule our visit to coincide with haircuts).
The difference between a craftman and an artist is that extra something -- that spark, that ooomph, and Ming Li has it. Try for yourself.
Debbie's great too!. I got a haircut and a perm from Debbie, and loved it. I brought a picture of the haircut I want, and got an identical cut that's also well framed for my face and body structure. My friends all warned me on the high-maintenance of the style I'm getting. I was worried because I barely know how to blow-dry my hair right. But Debbie gave me detailed instructions on what to do with my hair and maintenance turned out a piece of cake! Amazing. She also worked over-time on a friday night to finish my perm and cut, but didn't skim at all at her service to save time. The place is clean, modern, and chic. Young but friendly staff. Debbie did great service for my hair. Not to mention, Ming Li and some other staff also stayed late to close the shop. In addition, while I was there, I saw Ming Li cutting a number of people's hair. He's magic just like everybody else says. Everybody walked in and went under his scissors came out BEAUTIFUL! But schedule well in advance if you want his service. I totally recommended this place for Houstonians and out-of-towners like me.
Ming Li is a hair god!!!.
I've never seen anyone take such great care of my hair. Ming Li took a very careful look at my hair BEFORE it was washed and BEFORE he started cutting it. I was a bit nervous getting a very different coloring job from anything I've had before (a few shades darker all over with bright highlights), but I trusted Ming Li, and it turned out great! I know this salon, being in Chinatown, is mostly visited by Asian customers, but I think they can do an equally great job with non-Asian hair. Neither my friend nor I are Asian, yet we both got incredible haircuts and colorings.
I do advise to book at least two weeks in advance - they are very busy, and it's hard to get an appointment. Also, they usually work with several customers at a time, so Ming Li would go from one customer to another -- it didn't really affect the quality at all, but takes a bit longer than if you are at an empty salon. Don't be intimidated that they do not speak a whole lot of English -- most employees at Ming Li understand English quite well.
Oh yeah he's also great at giving you a layered hair design.
