Being Salvadorian, this is the best Salvadorian food I've had at a restaurant.. Of course, no commercial restaurant food compares to home-cooked authentic meals but El Sabor surely does embody many qualities found in really good home-made meals. I love this place and frequent it as often as possible.

Best Salvadoran Restaurant in Houston!!. My friends invited me to Sabor and I will definitely go back because it is the best Salvadoran restaurant I've ever been to. I've been to several other restaurants that serve Salvadoran food but Sabor is sophisticated and has great ambience. The service was exceptional and the food was tasteful. I strongly recommended it!!!

Best Salvadorean Food EVER!. This place was great!! My first time was with a friend from work and I thought I was never going to get out of my chair. The pupusas were delicious, not too thick. Then came the pan con gallina, I want to know what kind of sauce they put in that! Then when I thought she was going to have to roll me out the door, the empanadas..... MMM! It was like a little ball of lava at first but let them cool off, they're exquisite! I was hooked. Ive been a loyal patron since, I try something new everytime and am always pleased. It stinks that other guy had a bad time but they've always been great to me, Ive never had any problems. Go, I highly recommend!

Great service and delicious food. This a great restaurant! My friends had never tasted any Central American food so i brought them here and they were amazed with the experience of it! They had never tasted any of the special fruit juices they had on the menu so the waitress with no problem offered to bring us out samples of them. They have a variey of different foods you can choose from. I go there all the time and have never had any problem with service or food. The prices are great for the amount your getting, the staff was so helpful. i highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Horrible Lack of Service. I have to say this is one of the least enjoyable places we have eaten at recently. We brought a friend from El Salvador, and ordered by her recommendation, papusas and salvadorian fajitas. The papusas where ok tasting, the fajitas were chewy and rough and without flavor. When the waitress brought out the drinks, she served them to us by using the old hand over the rim of the glass method! "what a nasty woman". We decided not to complain, but try to be friendly. We were not offered refills on water or coffee. Then we waited over 30 minutes for the check to pay and the rest of our order to-go. The waitress never returned with the check or our food ordered to go. Needless to say we payed the check and never got the to-go-order. Eating here was a waste of time and money!!!!!!! NOT RECOMMENDED

Authentic Central American fare in a friendly, quiet setting.. In Short
A terrific addition to Houston's growing roster of Salvadoran options, this quiet and surprisingly refined strip-mall venue offers ample portions of exotic and deftly prepared dishes. The menu features seafood dishes, hearty breakfast fare (served with fried plantains) and a number of filling options for the crispy Salvadoran-staple pupusas. Entree-sized soups and a wide array of specialty drinks round out the menu.

Very good experience.... The place was clean, the other customers were quiet, the food and beverages were great and the attention was informal but pleasant. It is a small place... but only makes it exclusive...

We will come back to them often.

Outstanding food, drinks, service!. As vegetarians, we were skeptical to try this place because so many Latin cuisines are heavily focused on meat. But they did have a few options which made the visit well worthwhile. We started with fruit juices--the friendly staff brought us samples before we selected. We loved the cashew flower drink, and the tamarindo is made fresh and much better than the artificial stuff served in most Mexican restaurants. Pupusas made with zuchini or with a squash flower were delicious--reminiscent of gorditas but different. The fried plantains, boiled cassava and the corn tamale were excellent. We were stuffed, but tres leches and a banana pudding stuffed plantain fried and served with icecream were too tempting. A fine finish to a delicious meal! The friendly staff helped us throughout. We'll be back. (BTW, we went mid-afternoon so had the place mostly to ourselves).
