“don't know which I liked more, the rich chocolate cake or the thick slice of cheesecake topped with strawberries!”
“The dinner was delicious, but the desserts were spectacular.”
“The food was great and the service was just as good.”
“The desserts were huge.”
dinner disaster. Was expecting a entertaining evening of fun and good food considering the show was at Chabucas (wonderful food on previous visits)... Instead was forced to eat the buffet provided, which was cold and horrible, at $25 a person. The service was poor, and to top it off added gratuity at the end for our party of 2. The show was okay, nothing to write home about... the clues were poorly configured in a cramped setting. The butler gave a good show. Overall I would not recommend this to anyone.
I am sorry to here that your experience was horrible and I would like to extend my utmost apologies. I am trully sorry and would like You to come back as my personal guests. We have a new show and I have talked to Chabucas and we can substitute the buffet for a meal. I am glad that you enjoyed our showmanship. please contact me through my person e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
and I do hope that You will come see us again.
Great food, great fun!. We had the best time! Finally a place where you can eat and have your entertainment all in one place. It's a wonderful evening all rolled up in one. Each guest gets an opportunity to act in the show so it's spontaneous and fun. The food was great and the service was just as good. You can't miss this one; once you go, you can't wait to go back. Each time is even more fun than the previous.
What a great time we had!. My family and I attended one of the Saturday night shows at Murder by Chocolate and we had a blast! My grandmother was with us and she even participated! The atmosphere was very warm and inviting and the staff members were great! The dinner was delicious, but the desserts were spectacular. I had the warm applie pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. The host was very, very funny and had my grandmother in stitches! We all got to play a part in the "mystery" and I actually turned out to be the murderer! It was a perfect night. I will be returning to Murder by Chocolate very soon!
Went here with our church staff. Most fun we have ever had together! Brought back my family - it is G-Rated - the kids loved it!
We found ourselves in the middle of a murder investigation. Where someone, or more than one, in the house was the killer. The script was hilarious! We got to play a part in the show if we wanted to - complete with costume. After someone in the house was murdered... here came dinner.
Food was very good and the service was excellent. No one was able to finish their dessert. They were huge!
After dinner - back to the show - with sound effects and theme music for characters, it is more fun than anyone can explain in print. No one in the house figured out who the killer was - tho when it was presented... it was right before our eyes. This is the most creative, fun, inter-active event you could ever imagine!
JUST GO!!!!! We've seen two different shows and look forward to our next time at Murder By Chocolate!
I had the best time of my life!. I had such a wonderful time when I visited this dinner theatre in the heart of Kemah! The food was great and the owner was hilarious! I am a shy person by nature, but the once I saw how much fun everyone else was having, I couldn't wait to join in! And the desserts were just heavenly. I don't know which I liked more, the rich chocolate cake or the thick slice of cheesecake topped with strawberries! YUM!! By the end of the night, my face hurt from laughing and I couldn't wait to go home and call all of my friends.
Egad! Even a stuffy lawyer will have a good time.. Enjoyed the opportunity to play a part in The Have=it-alls, one of the mystery plays at Murder by Chocolate, I had a blast although I don't know how well my acting was received by the other dinners, considering I read like a lawyer. I enjoyed the play and getting to meet all the folks at my table. We were all strangers when the night began, but by the end of the evening we knew each other's names. The food was terrific and the deserts are 'to die for' -- I had the chocolate cake -- and could not finish the entire piece. It's a great evening for family fun and for breaking the ice. I look forward to going back and playing a different part in a new play. Thanks for the evening.
If you love chocolate, you're in heaven. There was some traffic in Kemah of Friday night..
Have been there 3 times and enjoyed it each time. The atmosphere is consistent with a mystery dinner location. The desserts were huge. The food was fabulous and I asked for seconds. I even had the owner
do a private party for my son before he graduated from high school. Top notch.
A great evening of fun and food.
I disagree with the only review that I see. This is only one persons opinion and obviously he needed the alcohol to have a good time and be entertained. It was so long that I got tied of reading it. Not TRUE!
The chicken fettuccine is excellent and the garlic bread is delicious. The portion size is enough for 2 people., very generous portions. The Murder By Chocolate is wonderful for desert. You leave totally entertained and very satisfied. Would recommend to anyone. It a great evening of fun and who dunnit is never who you thought it was. I go to every new show.
A great tragedy, would not recommend.
I had to literally cuy my review in half because citysearch said it was too long.
The food. Eh. It starts out with a simple beverage list of coffee, tea, and soda. No alcoholic drinks at all and you may not BYOB during this 2 hours event surrounded by bars and a winery. I can only imagine that from the flier with religious statements that the owners are teetotalers. This came as quite a shock. In their defense it is advertised as G rated fun, but they put the G in G. Of the 40 guests, there were once single 5 or 6 year old boy. The salad is small, and what you expect might come out of a bulk bag from Sam?s club. Wilted, unimaginative, and with 2 choices for dressing. Ranch and spicy Italian. You essentially have the choice of chicken or steak (rumor has it shrimp is available), at a 3.00 up charge for the steak. Mind you, this is not what I call steak. I?d call it a 6oz skirt that had more fat on it than I could imagine. Unseasoned, reasonably tender, but so unimaginative I was amazed. The steak is smothered, and I mean smothered in bowtie pasta. No bread served prior to the meal, big error in my opinion. A copious amount of bread comes on the single (all non-matching) dishware loaded with the other tasteless food. I tried the chicken as well. Decent, but no fanfare. No flavor whatsoever. Frankly, if you were at a traditional restaurant and had this meal you would be complaining to the owner (who happens to be serving.)
The show. My spouse was part of it and has been involved in murder mysteries before. I can only assume this script was not professionally written as so many of them are. The plot was frankly amazingly cheesy, the props of minimal investment (read: STYROFOAM hats!) and I simply watched this event in utter amazement that anyone could consider this entertainment. When 10:00 rolled around I thanked God that this nightmare and absolute waste of a good Saturday evening was over.
Editorial Review. Audience-participation dinner theater, where the guests enjoy a meal while helping to solve a mystery.
