“Nice crowd, fun happy hour Spot!”
“This Pub has a lot to offer from great entrees to amazing desserts, salads and appetizers!”
“great drinks, great food, great fun!”
“Candles on the table are nice, but would prefer if they were the unscented variety, so the strong odor of cranberry or whatever the heck they are would not compete with the fine aroma of steak, curry and Guinness!”
“it's cozy, great drink selection, and the food is excellent.”
“If you love British fair, steak, burgers or Indian curries, this is a great place.”
“Friendly service and a unique experience everytime I go back!”
“The service stinks now (the waitresses are RUDE.”
“also look for good beer deals usually, but didn't really pay attention this time.”
“This place could be either a great bar or a great restaurant but the kitchen isn't open late and the bar is slow by 11.”
The traditionally furnished pub features an inviting fireplace, red leather booths and the dart room has an authentic, vintage red phone
booth with house phone imported from London. Intimate seating areas, soft lighting and a gleaming brass beer tap behind the barstool-dotted bar. Televisions visible for sporting events. The Red Lion Pub showcases the best beers on tap and a selective wine list, premium single malts along with fine spirits and cigar friendly.
Menu items include classic dishes such as bangers and mash; fish and chips; and Shepherds pie. We also have burgers, Indian quesadillas and free pizza bites at the bar Monday through Friday 3pm-7pm.
…
Places to pretend it's winter: Sit next to the fireplace in the little side room and pretend you're in bloody bitter cold England.

The food can be a bit pricey, but there are nightly specials to take advantage of, such as $7 burgers on Mondays. And they give you such generous helpings, you're likely to get at least another meal out of it.
What a wonderful place! This place can get crazy in a bit, we were here last weekend and the crowd is just electric. Wonderful staff too, they are too patient.
I went there for the first time two days ago because I saw that it was on Food Networks Diners Drive ins and Dives. Me and a girlfriend came there all excited to try the food and have a great experience. We got there at around 7:20pm and was not sat down til after 9pm!!!! An HOUR AND HALF of a wait! After the hostess told us that there were only 3 people in front of us on the wait that needed a small table. We kept coming back to the hostess to remind her that we were still waiting and wondering how much longer til we get sat. We suspect that she sat other people who came in after us and skipped us on the list. After waiting patiently at the side seating we were so ready to just walk up and leave but we waited for so long already we didnt want to leave after waiting for so long. Once we got sat and ordered the food, the service from the waitress was not that great either. We literally had to catch her attention every time she walked to other tables just so we can ask for things such as extra napkins, a to go box, the check etc. I ordered the chicken curry with rice n pita and i have to admit that the food was indeed tasty, but not good enough for the long wait nor the bad table service. In the restaurant industry it does not matter how great your food is if you fail at all other things/aspects in a good dining experience customers will not be coming back and tell all their friends to stay away. I am very disappointed in the level of service from this place as well as the LONG WAIT. I live very close to this place and would have loved to come back here had we had a good experience, but sadly this place is not as great as it should be after its been broadcasted on Food Network. I definitely WILL NOT come back here. Spend your money somewhere else where there is good food, good atmosphere, good service and a good time. There is too many options of good restaurants in Houston to go to somewhere that does not work to deserve your business!
Great Indian/British Selection. A great selection of indian, indian fusion, and british pub favorites. Love to stop by here after work for a bite to eat and a couple brews. Consistently good service when I've been, not a 5 star restaurant but very good and worth checking out!
RED LION PUB HOUSTON, TEXAS.
I saw FOOD CHANNEL and heard about "good restaurants".
I am sure the owner of RED LION must of paid good money to say on TV that that HIS restaurant is very good.
My wife and I went to eat there the next day and found out that even if the restaurant is nice, the service is terrible and the food, is nothing of what they show on TV. and over priced and not only that, the food is really terrible.
The owner does not care about the service and the quality of food.
If you want an advise, DO NOT EVER GO THERE !!
Fun Place. Red Lion is the place to be if you want fun times with friends or office mates. Catch up with life after work while drinking your favorite beer or cocktails. Servers are very attentive and always have a smile on their faces. Get your pub on !
Yummy food!. Went here the other night with a group of friends. To the dismay (I think) of the waitress, we only ordered the food (no drinks). But she was still super nice and friendly. Got the onion ring appetizer and Chicken Tika Masala. Delicious! It's a little bit on the pricey side ($18 for the bowl of masala, rice, and two pieces of Naan), but will definately go again.
The best pub food and beer selection around. There's nothing I do not like here. The food is superb...the steak on steak night melts in your mouth. The beer selection is first rate. I've introduced my parents here as well and they raved about it. The staff is top notch as well. Cheers to Red Lion! My only regret is that i've not been able to make it here more often since i moved out of the neighborhood.
OVER CHARGED AND THEY DID NOTHING ABOUT IT.
My husband and I frequent Houston often as we have family in Houston but live in Dallas. We went to the Red Lion almost 3 months ago, we were overcharged on our Visa. I have been calling for 3 months and the owner will not return any of my calls to credit this back to my Visa. I spoke to him once in the 3 months, he admitted it was their mistake they over charged me but never credited the money back and wont return any of my calls since. I have called everyday since. It is now the point of the matter rather than the money.
I will not be going back to a place where the OWNER could care less about his customers. I will however say they staff has been friendly.
