Intimate seating areas, soft lighting and a gleaming brass beer tap behind the barstool-dotted bar. Televisions visible for sporting events. The Red Lion Pub showcases the best beers on tap and a selective wine list, premium single malts along with fine spirits and cigar friendly.
Menu items include classic dishes such as bangers and mash; fish and chips; and Shepherds pie. We also have burgers, Indian quesadillas and free pizza bites at the bar Monday through Friday 3pm-7pm.

The Scene
The term "pub" gets tossed around pretty loosely in Houston, so it's nice to visit a place that's more than a pub in name only. Luscious red leather covers the bar stools and booths, a modest brick fireplace warms the cozy back room, and an impressive collection of Edwardian prints line the walls.
The Draw
This is no place for young blokes or old boozers downing their dying drink. The low-level music is geared more toward couples and single women looking to relax with a glass of chardonnay. There's a TV, but it's tucked away in a wood cabinet above the bar. The owner only takes it out of hiding for local games. A huge list of single-malt scotches and a spot-on traditional English menu completes the London trip.

We love this place. Great food - try the curries on Wednesday evenings, a choice from 7 curries and a pint for $16. Every week night finds some special, Steak, Burger, Curry, Meatballs, Fish & Chips, and all top notch food. The beers's a tiny bit pricey - although you can always drink "lite" beer for next to nothing. Loads of choice, real British Ale and a British Boozer atmosphere to match. The star of the show is George, the surfer barman, if you're lucky enough to get in while he's working, he's incredibly knowledgeable about what's going on in Houston and elsewhere, and will always point you inthe right direction about what's on the menu, and more importantly, what's off the menu - there's always loads of stuff not listed. Just try it.

This is a great curry house! Reminds me of some of the ones i've been to in London. So happy to have found this gem in the middle of Houston. A job well done by the owner and staff. Make sure to drop by during happy hour where the crowd is diverse and the specials are delicious!!
