Good music, but drink prices doubled later in the evening. The drinks started at a reasonable price, but before midnight, the drink prices doubled on our bills. Although it was good music (live band as well as DJ), paying double for drinks compared to prices earlier in the evening put a damper on our good time. Next! Plan on coming here to dance, and go elsewhere to get your drink on... unless you plan on sipping the same drink all night.

Cool during the week, but I wouldn't go on a Fri. or Sat.. $.50 beer on Wednesdays is great and they usually have a live jazz band as well. Thursdays are good too. During the week, it actually is a lounge wher you can play pool, throw darts, drink, dance, eat, and everything you would expect. On the weekend, though, it tries to turn into a trendy nightclub and it fails.

WEAK. JUST WEAK. SAVE UR TIME & $. OK, LET'S START BY SAYING THAT THERE ARE TONS OF PLACE TO GO TO ON THE WAY TO THIS JUNK HOLE. SO, DON'T EVEN GO THAT FAR DOWN MONTROSE. THIS PLACE NOT ONLY HAS AN ODOR EVERYTIME I HAVE BEEN THERE - BUT THE ACT AS EXPECTED FOR SUCH A WASTEFUL VENUE. THEY SAY THE HOTTEST DANCE FLOOR AND WHAT THEY MEANT IS THE STINKY-EST DANCE FLOOR. VALET, TO THE BOUNCERS - & BARTENDERS ALL NEED TO JUST STAY @ THE LOUNGE & NOT INFEST ALL THE OTHER HOT SPOTS. TRASH NEEDS TO STAY @ THE LOUNGE. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCES EVERYTIME I GO THERE. (WHICH HAS ONLY BE 5 TIMES) I WILL NEVER GO BACK AGAIN. THAT'S FOR SURE. SAVE UR TIME & MONEY! DON'T VALET, DON'T UPSET THE LOSERS AT THE DOOR THAT CALL THEMSELVES BOUNCERS, DON'T TRY TO GET ONE OF THE UGLY BARTENDERS TO SMILE AND ACT PERSONABLE, DON'T EXPECT THE MANAGER TO ACTUALLY DO HIS JOB, AND DON'T EXPECT THERE TO BE ANY GOOD DJS. HA! THE BEST DJS IN HOUSTON ARE NOT AT THE LOUNGE. ESP. NOT DJ RED. THIS IS NOT NYC OR MIAMI. IT'S HOUSTON. GET SOBER AND GET THAT PLACE IN SHAPE OTHER WISE IT IS GOING TO GET SHUT DOWN.

This self-proclaimed "pub club" has good grub.. The Scene
Managed by the owners of the Tavern, this semi-classy establishment is less sports-centric than its sister pub. Dim lighting, candlelit tables and intriguing blue and red hues cast a romantic mood. Three burgundy-felt pool tables figure prominently in the main room's design, as do video projections that animate the entire side wall.

The Draw
A lot of Tavern regulars come here to show off their flashier duds. They're not dressed to the nines, but the guys definitely put an iron to their button-ups. DJ Red gets the dance floor moving by 11pm Thursday-Saturday. Most other nights, bands like Grady Gains and the Texas Upsetters fill the room with funk and blues. The bold menu is, for the most part, inexpensive. Shrimp satays are consistently succulent, and the California roll is on par with that of any local sushi restaurant.

Decent place to hang out. Mixed crowd, bouncers at the door trying to make money. Make sure you follow the dress code (No sneakers) or else you will end up paying $10 -$20 extra to the bouncers on top of the cover. Decent drinks and dance floor.

not satisfied. First time I went to the Lounge, I had a great time. I had about 10 people with me. The next time I planned to go was for my birthday and despite their advertisements for "birthday specials" which are posted on their website and in the club, nobody was available to give me information. Nobody returned my phone calls or emails. I was surprised that a business would not want to increase their clientele or want repeat business from such a large group. False advertisement, unreturned messages and emails leads me to the conclusion that if you don't desire proper courtesy than this place is for you, otherwise guys I'd save my money and go elsewhere!

#1 of Houston's TOP 10. FIRST OF ALL, The Lounge has been one of my HOTSPOTS for about 2 years. I am a single female and this is the place to be. Everytime I am there the service is great, the MUSIC is fresh and the drinks are made to the "T". The Lounge has like 4-5 CLUBS IN IT. It has a great lounging area in the wine cellar, a sushi bar area, a pool & dart area, and MY FAVORITE a huge DANCE ROOM. So many areas for whatever YOUR MOOD IS! I come to The Lounge atleast 2 weekends out of a month. Great place to spend your money and meet professional- classy people. Come and see for yourself. Oh and by the way- don't be frightened by the $10.00 cover GUYS because it is well worth it- LADIES ARE FREE so, there is tons of people to meet.

Don't Bother. This place used to be pretty cool. Now they've gotten too proud. The bartenders are slow and make weak drinks. The dj plays the same songs over and over - IN THE SAME NIGHT!!! They have like 5 guys to work the door and it is completely unecessary and they all act like they have the most important job in the world. I would have recommended this place back when they were humble. It's a cool place turned snobby. Don't bother.

Average. We went a couple of weeks ago for a friends birthday. The place itself is o.k. Nothing fantastic, but not bad either. The set-up is nice with the little lounge downstairs and a sports bar type set-up at the main entrance. Upstairs is a little dance floor with a sushi bar in the next little room. The strange thing were the people there. They all seemed a little special (in the short bus kind of way). Overall, it was o.k., but I don't know that we would go back again, even if I did have a good time while I was there. I think that was mostly because of the birthday party...not because of the club.

Overchared. They charged me $20 for a $3.50 beer on my creditcard. In fact, before I left the club I gave her cash and she said "no charge" but today there's a charge.
