Great casual Italian restaurant - need a new hostess.
My fiancé and I went to Corelli's for the first time this weekend mainly because we had a coupon from the Entertainment Book but also because it's BYOB, which we love. The caprese salad was one of the best I have ever had and our entrees were both very good.
What was odd was that when we arrived at 7:15pm on a Saturday night the hostess greeted us with a concerned look on her face and said "there is a 30-35 minutes wait, so you can wait or just go somewhere else." We thought that was an odd comment for a hostess to make, but decided to stay since we had a bottle of wine and didn't want to search the area for another BYOB establishment. The hostess offered to open our bottle of wine three times, but it never actually happened until we were seated and our waiter (who by the way was awesome) opened it for us. The hostess just seemed totally overwhelmed; especially considering the restaurant wasn’t even full. We only ended up waiting about 7minutes and had a great experience once we were seated.
tasty bruchetta!.
Prompt service, relatively authentic food, everything was well prepared and tasty- no complaints.
We had bruchetta, eggplant parmesan and snapper napoli. They also have whole wheat pasta to substitute for $1. The location was busy but not crowded on a Sunday evening and had a good, casual ambience.
Fabulous Veal, Great Service, BYOB. The veal corelli was AMAZING, as was the tomato basil soup. Seriously people - unbelivable. We tried this on a long shot after our first three tries were closed (apparently, every Italian joint in Houston closes on Sundays). We drove past Corelli's and decided to give it a shot since I was craving veal. Couldn't have been happier! Our server was great, our food was mind-blowing, and the BYOB was nice since we already had a bottle of merlot in the car. We sat outside and lingered over soup and appetizers, entrees and a dessert... service was prompt and friendly without being overbearing or rushed. We'll be frequent visitors now!
Great Place!. Fantastic food, neat environment, great helpful and happy service. Staff was attentive, prompt and really nice. we had a great time!
Great Italian Food!. Thank god I have finally found a good Italian Restaurant to replace the horror we've come know as The Olive Garden. Corelli's has such a great variety of entrees and the food actually tastes like its been cooked and not nuked in some microwave. I'm not big on vegetarian entrees, but their eggplant parmesan is to die for! The restaurant has such a cozy, mom n'pop feel to it, so it seems like you've just been invited into an Italian's house for dinner. I highly recommend giving this place a try!!
YUMMY. EVERYTHING IS DELICIOUS HERE. GOOD SERVICE. GOOD STAFF. ZERO WAITING TIME. GOOD FOR DATES OR CASUAL DINING. DON'T KNOW WHAT TO GET? NO WORRIES. IT'S ALL GOOD HERE!
best italian food in houston!. wow i have just moved here to the houston area from ohio and have eaten at lots of restaurants, especially italian, it's my favorite....but corelli's definetly tops them all! it's a relaxing atmosphere with wonderful servers and EXCELLENT FOOD! everything on their menu is mouthwatering from the pollo trapani, tortellini carbonara, and my favorite....spagetti!!! they serve a number of delicious wines and even have no cork fee for the summer so you can just bring your own! i absolutely love the place....will be back many times!
hispanic beware. stopped by last night. over 10 minutes went by and not one person waited on us. i took a look at the menu and dialed the number of the cafe on my cell. a waiter sitting down at a table preparing tableware answered and i asked him "how long does it take to get served in this place?" he got up quick and came over to the table. plates were delicious. desert in particular. but i felt they failed in hospitality. don t judge a book by it's cover.
Editorial Review. Family-friendly, bistro-style eatery serving up casual Italian favorites like pizza and lasagna since 1996.
Just Great. Wow, I didn't expect everything to be so great. It is small and quaint. Food and sevice were way above our expectations. The manager was really friendly and made sure everything was PERFECT! The porkchops were really good, as was my husband's tortellini. We will be back for sure.
