What People Are Saying About The Axiom

In Short – Infernal Bridegroom Productions, a non-profit experimental theater group, staged its first show as a company here in 1993. At the time, the Axiom was a punk-rock venue. Now, the club is IBP's full-time residence. They use the space primarily for staging daring and idiosyncratic productions by the likes of Beckett, Brecht and contemporary playwrights, including Shepard and Shawn. All of these artistic endeavors--plays, monthly micro-cinemas (short alternative films) and fashion shows--attract a loyal group of counterculture enthusiasts.
Editor's Tips
- The Extras:
- Since most performances don't sell out the 99-seat theater, good seats can often be had at the last minute.
- When to Go:
- As a homage to the original spirit of the venue, they host indie and punk-rock shows at least three times every other week.
