“The place to go for friendly sophistication, superb food and drinks.”
“classy, safe, great music, great drinks, harris is the best bartender in houston, the vallet parkings are very professional.”
“the music was good but the dance floor, if you can call it a dance floor, is small and the people are moving at slow speed.”
This haute spot has experienced a resurgence in popularity, luring the after-gala set back to its pub-like environs..
The Scene
Rich, oiled wood paneling helps create the dark tones perfect for puffing on a fine cigar from the hotel's humidor and sipping a single malt. This masculine paradise is complete with lush bronze fixtures; original, contemporary artwork; and a smooth coat of elegance extending from the St. Regis Hotel lobby straight into the bar. To the under-40 set, the bar may feel stuffy, but that may be the point. A live jazz trio pipes in spontaneity on weekend nights.
The Draw
Like other upscale hotel bars, you may spot a bold-faced name here or there, though the regulars are more likely to show up on the local gossip sheets than the national ones. The signature bartender, known simply as Harry, has won innumerable awards for his infused vodka martinis.
Beautiful hotel lovely restaurant.
After deciding to stay at the St. Regis for two nights while the plumbing was being tweaked in the new home we are building, my wife and I made reservations and ventured down into the Remington. We ate outside and had a wine pairing dinner, with artful suggestions by our server.
The Remington Tortilla Soup was a big favorite of my wife's, but actually, everything we ordered was excellent. The NouvelleAmerican/Texas inspired cuisine is quite a change for both of us because we come from London and New York, where this is quite a novelty. Love it! Will be back!
Ole legends in View. Truly a place for the ole legends of the city to come out too....Age range from 25 to 90, leaning more to the baby boomers..the music was good but the dance floor, if you can call it a dance floor, is small and the people are moving at slow speed.
Atmosphere and style to spare. I love walking into The Remington. It impresses as soon as you walk in. The dim lights, the cozy tables, the friendly staff. You know you are going somewhere special. The food is great, too. I'd order the steak. They know how to do a medium-rare.
Where adults go. The Remington Bar in the St. Regis Hotel is an adult haven. The place to go for friendly sophistication, superb food and drinks.
unforgettable evening. The dining room was very warm and inviting as well as romantic. The service was wonderful. The server was right there to greet us as soon as we sat down. The food was excellent and cooked just as we asked. Last but not least, the desserts were mouth watering like the chocolate adonis which was to die for!
Amazing entertainment. One of the best hotel in Houston; it is very well known by its romantic restaurant "The Remington" that presents an unforgettable dinnig experience featuring a new American cuisine with an European influence. It is also known by its bar "The Remington Bar" where you can experience one of the most entertainning nights. The Remingtion Bar host unique live band entertainment Thursday Friday and Saturday nights.
Outstanding Service. I recently was a guest at the St. Regis and I have to say that it was an excellant experience. My first morning there I ordered Room Service and the attendant that took my order was very helpful and knowledgeable. My order was brought to my very quickly and just as I requested. I wanted to enjoy the Tea Lounge but when I called to make reservations the said they were booked. The girl I had spoke to called me back and said that she squeezed me in as she wanted to help my experience. It was wonderful. The restaurant is beautiful and the food amazing. The atmosphere in the bar is very relaxed and has great music. I would recommend you go and experience it all.
