“Its not a vintage store by any means but has the best selection of funky mdoern items and cool T shirts.”
“If you want fabulous fashion, deals, and customer service, you certainly will never find it at this place.”

Taxi Taxi shoud take a cab out of Houston. I took my 7 jeans there to sell, a lady marked them each for $19 to $20, so i got $9.50 to $10 each for the 4 pairs i brought in as they advertised that they pay out 50% of final value of one's clothes. when i went back the same day to sell more clothes, i saw MY jeans marked for $59-$69 instead of what the lady had told me originally. THEY ARE SOOOO DISHONEST!!!
Funny how they treat you differently if you look like freak!. I'm a young mother. I take my 14 year old girl there, they absolutely love her! She is trendy I guess, and as most teenagers is finding her identity. As for me; when I look like mom and take my toddler with me, they ignore me and are rude, when I wear my skinny jeans and look more like them, they are nice. I just think thats funny... I don't care much for the clothes, most of them are overpriced and old, but my daughter likes it, sometimes I do save a few bucks. There are some good finds...rarely. My daughter bought a dress for a dollar at the Salvation Army, found out she didnt like it at the end and resold it to Taxi Taxi. They priced it at $10! Thats another funny story... Just wanted to share. Oh and just to clear things up, my girlie doesn't look like a freak, but if she did they would like her even more I bet. I take my daughter there a few times a year when she get bored of the mall.
Cute for Cheap. Well, I went to Taxi Taxi for the first time a couple months ago and fell in love with it. The aura is great and the people there are very friendly. One of the workers sat outside with us and we had a very nice chat. They have an abundant amount of cute hats, and other clothing. Just make sure you wash before using! xoxo
Great prices!. taxi taxi is the best place to go if your running low on funds. I won't say they always have something but I make sure to stop by everytime I'm in the area just to check it out. Even if you don't find something you like it's fun just to look at all of the old stuff they have. Some of the things are absoulutely horrible so you definately have to dig. They have SO MANY shoes and they do t-shirts and piercings so definately stop by.
For the super trendy circa 1997.
Well, i'm forced to go in this store everytime my friends and I go shopping down Westheimer. I've never bought anything. There was only one ocassion where I almost bought something, it was 50% of shoes in a certain section, I found a pair of polka dot heels that had a broken strap. With 50% off they'd only be $7. Fine, it'd only be $3 or 4 to get it fixed. I got to the desk and found that the priced mark was 50% off, $14 for a pair of broken no-name shoes. I don't think so. The clothes are filthy and old, it's like a over priced Good Will. The staff are so unpleasent and rude, they never smile and never acknowledge the customer, I guess that would break their 'too cool to care' stride. They have a bunch of the same thing, over priced junk.
if you're in a good mood for shoping, don't go to taxi-taxi, especially if you wear anything above a size 10 or 38 men's waist.
Greg says good clothes. Have to try. Based on a geeod review from Greg Johnson. Destiny is never assored it must be won. ABCD
Next best thing to actually going to Austin!.
So far it's the only vintage/thrift store in Houston that I like.
To whoever complained about the staff not knowing their stuff.
Vintage is just another name for "used" clothing, whether it's designer or not, in other words, it's the same as thrift stores (except that the typical thrift store sells tons of other items that aren't clothing, sometimes junk in general).
No offense but Houston has got nothing on Austin when it comes to vintage, with all these "designer wh*res" running around, Taxi Taxi is a nice breath of fresh air. They're real, mellow and everything that a vintage store should be, NOT up tight like some of the other places. If you want stuff like that, go to the Galleria or something. If you want something more fun and down to earth, this is definately the place.
Still doesn't beat any of the unique boutiques (vintage or not) in Austin though.
*Just a plug* If anyone ever gets into Austin, definately check out the boutiques/shops on South Congress (most people only know about the drag but honestly, there isn't much on the drag). My all time favorite store is Goodie Two Shoe, check it out! They have new and old stuff, stuff you won't find anywhere else for a good price.
Party at Taxi Taxi like its 1996! or shop here if you're a teenager from Sugarland (you will think its FUNKY!).
Gross just about sums it up. This store is for the "creative types" the way the Cracker Barrel is for foodies. The staff is untrained for all 3 stores in this chain. Great story: a friend of mine took a Miu Miu blouse to Fashion Recycler or whatever its called (same owner) and they told her they only buy "designer stuff, like, you know, Prada". Hilarity and hijinks -- someone whose job is buying clothes and should be fashion knowledgable doesn't realize that Miu Miu is Prada's hipper sister line.
"Vintage" here sure looks a lot like thrift to me. Staff is actually pleasant, just missing the desired target of "hipster" and landing squarely on "alternative kid, circa 1996"
Houston has some great vintage and resale shops, and Buffalo is reliable -- sometimes even pleasantly surprising. I'll stick to those.
great selection of t's &jeans &shoes.
the complaints about taxi taxi not having a good vintage selection are kind of pointless.
seeing as how it is a resale shop where people just bring in their clothes they don't want anymore.
&to the remark about the people who work there acting like they're too cool to help anyone, i've never been treated poorly when i've gone in there. every time i go i always strike up a conversation with someone who works there &they're quite friendly.
Love this Place!. All that say this store is horrible are crazy because I love this store. They have very inexpensive, fun, unique clothes.
