Incompetence Knows No Bounds – Unbelievable. I had a permanent retainer that became unattached on one side and wanted it removed completely. I saw Dr. Davis, who easily removed the other side. She informed me that the side that broke off at home had taken a piece of my tooth with it, and therfore, I would need a filling. She also told me that they didn't have any of the adhesive in their office to do a permanent filling, so she would just put in a temp and I would need to come back. Red flag. What sort of dentist office can't do a filling? Anyways, she applied the temporary filling and sent me on my way.
I thought the male receptionist was snobby, the dentist casual, the lack of supplies annoying, and decided to try a different dentist for my permanent filling.
I made an appointment for a permanent filling with a different dentist who had been recommended by a friend. He took off the temporary filling, and started laughing. Apparently Dr. Davis couldn't tell the difference between cement and my tooth! I didn't need a filling at all, just the rest of the cement sanded down!
Wow. And wow.
Bad management – Various incidences:
1) They don't respect your time, but God forbid you be late:
This was in 08: I was stuck in traffic once - called in that I would be late. Unfortunately, by the time I reached it was 5:20 (20 minutes late). They sent me back from the door even though when I called about being late, they said ok. This is not bad in itself. The bad part was they couldn't give me an appoitment for a month, and then when I reached the dentist at 4:55pm one month later... they made me wait till 5:25 before I was taken in.
So it's ok when they can't take me in at the right time, but when I turn up late for one appointment (I have been going there from 05 - the same place, but the people/ staff keep changing. I never know what's going on) they have to frustrate me and send me home.
2) They send idiotic bills to your house.. I mean after the appointment I always ask if I owe anything (that the insurance wont / cant cover) and pay if anything has to be paid. Months after the said appointment, they send bills that you are not even sure are about, and then don't answer the phone when you call and then send threatening letters that they will send collectors after us. I mean we have paid them everything we owe them.. they see us multiple times - my whole family goes there. We leave them voice messages that we need to talk to them to understand what they are charging us, and yet they send us letters that collectors will be notified. How nice!!
3) Since I usually take the last appointments available (as if I afford to drive 1 hr 20 mins back n forth during week hours), the hygienist has done a pretty bad job cleaning the last two times. You can sense she just wanted to get done 2 minutes after you stepped in.
4) They have made multiple mistakes with insurances. I don't know all the detials but on multiple times they forget to check if something would be covered under insurance or they assume it would be and then when it's not they send you a bill... for e.g.: they asked my mom to come in for the third time during a year, and ofcourse her insurance wouldn't cover the third visit. And this was not told to us upfront. So, we had to pay.
Great Dentist – I should say five star to this place.. easy to get an appointment..friendly front desk.. and Dr. Douglas Chadwick was awesome.. he was professional and friendly..i had my wisdom teeth removed and all my friends gave me really scary stories about the procedure.. Dr.Chadwick did a great job and i did not feel any discomfort or pain during the whole process. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Great dentist and hygenist, horrible front desk staff – I went to this place because it is on my dental plan. The dentist, hygienist, and dental assistants were great. However, the front desk staff was appallingly rude. First, the office has this supremely inconvenient policy that you have to get your check-up in one visit, and THEN schedule your cleaning under a second appointment. Getting off work to go to the dentist is hard enough without having to do it twice. Second, there are no doors on any of the exam rooms, so when the front desk started trash talking about a client, I heard it all. The hygienist, to her credit, did her best to cover this unprofessional and catty behavior. Then, when I went to pay the bill, the receptionist miscalculated it to the tune of more than 350% of what I was supposed to pay under my plan. When I questioned her about it, she snapped, "Well, that is what is costs. We calculate it according to a price list that you got when you signed up with your plan." Essentially, she blamed me for her attempts to cheat and steal from me and then implied that I was stupid and wrong about the matter. Ultimately, I determined that she calculated the fees under the wrong plan. Rather than apologize, she called out her co-worker for the mistake in front of me and another customer. She finally calculated the fees under my plan, and just credited my card for the difference in the charges and never gave me a new, itemized invoice. I still think she overcharged me. In the midst of all of this, she hissed a snotty answer at a caller inquiring about services and slammed down the phone. This sort of behavior is not only exceptionally unprofessional, but it's deceptive to the point that it may expose the office to liability under the law. Until they replace this odious receptionist, STAY AWAY.
