A Great Mexican Restaurant. I have been a regular at Gabacho's since I first "discovered" it when Cadillac's in Kemah was closed on a Monday. We each order our own stuffed jalapeno appetizer which is fantastic, stuffed with chicken and obviously home made.

The veracruz sauce is simply outstanding. It is a jalapeno cream sauce with spinach, crawfish and shrimp and complements the flank sauce for a truly memorable meal. On our last visit, we were with a friend and she ordered salmon with veracruz sauce and also raved about the quality and flavor.

This restaurant is owner operated and it shows in the service and quality. My wife and I have been here at least 25 times and Jose and or his wife have always been there.

We have also been there on nights when a singer accompanying himself on the guitar is there and this adds to the experience.

Best Mexican Food. I was drawn in by their advertised Stuffed Avocados found in the local Clear Lake magazine, The Scene. The taste of this dish matched the incredible description I read. The entree consists of two large avocado halves stuffed with choice of either beef, chicken, or shrimp, cheese, mushrooms, and a jalepeno cream sauce. Their Mexican Rice is some of the best I have ever had. My husband also enjoyed the Spinach and Chicken Enchiladas. The red and green salsas that accompany the chips taste homeade and flavorful.

A Place that's ALWAYS FUN. I give this place 5 stars out of 5! The food is always great; no matter what you order! They are now updating their building and it will look more inviting. The owner and his family are wonderful people and give the place a very homey feel. The entertainment is the best; especially on Friday nights! The wait staff are always friendly and right on time with serving you. You just have to check it out!

Love Gabacho's. Wonderful food. Never had to ask for chips or salsa - they keep it coming. Fajitas are great as are most of their other entrees. New chef also makes out of this world flan. Haven't been to South Shore Harbour location as El Lago is closer. Keep it great Jose!

Gabacho's Spells Disaster. To each his own. I see the first reviewer actually liked the place. I wasn't impressed enough to go back a second time.

But that's history. Gabacho's new location in League City promised something differnt - an international flare. Not. Just another Mexican restaurant and, like their El Lago spot, not a good one either. Both times I went, I was the only one in the place. And for good reason.

When you want to explore an advertised "Sunday" brunch, you want something besides the every day menu. So where is it? To sum up, the food and service are equally paired - lousy. Refried beans are trapped in a nether world somewhere between gravy and soup. You have to ask for salsa, and will get catsup instead. The request doesn't seem to give them a clue you might also like chips with that (like those poured out of a huge bag you might get at the 99c store). The salsa is some of the worst I've had, as if poured out of giant vat. Nine dollars for this and a Coke?

Finally, three strikes, and Gabacho's is out. I predict they won't last another six months to a year.

Excellent Tex-Mex in a very competitive market. The spinach and chicken enchiladas had a fresh filling covered by delicious white queso with a jalapeno zing. The chiles rellenos were simply outstanding. Each menu item has a deft touch of the chef that makes it different from all the rest. The owner and wait staff were attentive and knowledgeable. Gabachos was a very pleasant surprise. There are so many new 'just barely average' mexican restaurants that this one really stood out from the pack.
