WASTE OF MONEY. My friends and I visited Genji's often. It was literally our designated hangout spot every Saturday for the past two months. Sadly, we've all grown incredibly weary of the place and have decided to forgo our weekly pleasure of singing and cheap sushi.

Mr. Genji is obviously more biased to Asians. I would even go as far as to say that Genji's is for Asians only. It feels as though white, latin, or african american clients are frowned upon. He treats Asians better, allows them to sing more than the standard set of three songs, and his wait staff caters to their every whim. Mr. Genji sometimes fails to split the bill when asked and even seems to have an attitude about it.

The place itself increases in filth each week. The tables and song books are often sticky, the bathrooms are not maintained, and a few of our orders have been served on dirty or -broken- dishes. Just last night, on our *last* visit, an order of sushi arrived with a hair rolled inside. Based on what I've read here, this in not uncommon. The hair in our sushi seemed purposefully placed and that is just not acceptable. In fact, it's disgusting.

I always try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but it's beyond ridiculous now. I do not recommend this place in way, shape, or form.

Total DUMP. I have been to thise venue many times and I have always had an ok experince. However, after thsi last time I will never return again. The place is dirty the projection screen was broken so the only option to sing on the main floor is to go up and stare at a tiny barely working screen. The owner told us no reservations but made them for people who could not get there at opening even though we were already there. Needless to say this place is a dump and it wont be long before health inspection closes this place down. Save yourself the time and go somewhere else this place is just not worth it.

Total Dump. Last week I called Genji's to try and reserve a private karaoke room for my friends birthday tonight. They Told us they do not take reservations, so first come...first serve. We arrived at 7:00,when the doors opened. We where in a party of 12, so we needed the larger room. They told us that the room was reserved....someone had called in a few minutes before and said they wanted it. We complained that they told us there where no reservations, and they said we could have the room if the other group did not show up. 45 minutes later, ther group did arrive...and they got the room. they appeared to know the owner there.

Their food was not terrible, but we watched the waitresses scream over a cockaroach in the kitchen. The bathrooms are disgusting, the wait staff is terrible...and their song books are falling apart. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. This place is a dump, I'm sure their kitchen is FILTHY, and you have to literally walk around and find your waitress to ask for a refill...they never come to the table to see if you want another drink.

When we received our food, one of the sushi rolls had a hair rolled into it. This is by far the worst karaoke bar in Houston.
