i just have to write this review. I have been going to Fox and Hound for years, After reading reviews on other bars and clubs in Houston on Citysearch, i just thought about one of the best places i can hang out and relax with my friends in Houston, and only Fox and Hound popped up in my head,, I have never been mistreated, the staff actually gives a damn, there are no rude front door men or women and they seem genuine. this is a place where they still seem to care about customer service, and for that is a reason why my friends and I still support this establishment.

For the Pub Lover in Us All. Put all the pieces together to what makes a great pub: Beer, Billiards, and Baskets of Fried Whatnot. Welcome to Fox & Hound (FNH). Its sheer size rivals many clubs, but in no way has that Ed Hardy kind of feel. Due to its three room setup with a private upstairs party room, there's enough elbow room to alleviate any feelings of claustrophobia.

The menu is fairly elaborate. I recommend the Ultimate Nachos. Whenever I’m kicking back with drinks - which seems to be quite often (I’m kind of judging myself right now) - I am easy to please when it comes to finger foods; Make it in large portions, piping hot, and greasy.

FNH’s Beer Selection rivals any Houston Pub. It stretches parallel to the bar, which goes from one end of the Common Room to the other. As far as the ones bringing you the beer, the wait staff, that’s where FNH hooks me. I haven’t run into a waitress yet who has that “I’m here for the money, so don’t talk to me” attitudes. I’ve been to my fair share of bars and sometimes, the wait staff ruins your night. Not here. FNH definitely has a chemistry working in its favor. The staff goes all out for holiday dress-up days and event functions. It makes it fun for them, so naturally, fun for the guest. Kudos.

On the other side of the coin, and it’s almost not fair because they really can’t do much about it, the location. This is just a rough side of town. Because of that, it attracts some, let’s say, questionable personalities on a consistent basis. If you’re ever faced with a run-in from a group of questionable personalities, I don’t care who you’re with - it ruins your evening. There are a number of things establishments can do to combat this: Dress Code, Cover Charge (really not a fan of), and the elimination of UFC Fights (Just kidding) (Kinda).

FNH Fuqua - Keep doing what you’re doing. I’ll be back. - n@.

BK would have been better. Ever heard of service with a smile? Well if you have don't expect it at the Fox and Hound.

We had a group of 9 meeting for a friends birthday. The waiter would not return to fills drinks. And didn't place one of the orders, he then blamed it on the kitchen and said the food was cold, so they were remaking it. It was a salad!!! He then said it would be right out, it then came out 15 minutes later, and it was wrong!

The place wasn't very busy and wait staff was just standing around.

One a side note..the bathrooms were horrible , not clean with a sticky wet floor and scattered paper.

I do believe if the staff was better and attentive this could be a great place, but for now i wouldn't recommend it.

Nothing Special. I've been to Fox & Hound on the Gulf Freeway several times since it opened, and I've always been disappointed in the service. I've never been on a weekend, or when any big games were going on, so it wasn't crowded when I went. It seemed like the bartenders were more interested in goofing around with each other than pouring drinks. The waitresses would walk by our table several times and say "Oh I'll bring more beer on my next trip" and then they'd go by at least twice more not bearing beer. To me, that is not very smart - especially when the majority of the money to be made there is from tips. People won't tip well if they're ignored.
