Great time, great place. Been going to Scout now for about 2 years and I always have a good time. The staff is friendly, the service is good, and the music is great. Thumbs up on going Smoke Free!!! Keep up the good work and keep rocking!

don't do it. Here is a current review. Sunday March 5 2011 my daughter went to Scout Bar with some friends. While getting the first drink they looked back at the table where they set their things and her purse was gone. She went into the restroom where she found a female going thru her purse.. A fight broke out and my daughter was stabbed multiply times by this individual. Very serious.. I don't recommend any of those place's in that block to my friends or family. Always trouble in that area....I had to rate this place in order to publish this review. 1 star is too many !!

Updated Review. I see the reviews for this place are outdated so I thought I would chime in..

The clientele are sketchy to say the least..alot of dudes wearing 'Affliction' shirts and fake tan, roided out. The chicks look like they all stepped off the "rock of love tourbus" (not even the half decent ones though and they are all about 18). some pretty cool bands play there and as said in other reviews the owners seem to be nice

a couple of bartenders are definitely doing coke, before or during their shift, one in particular but i won't call him out. some of them are so wasted behind the bar that they can barely function

one nice bartender (an older chick), she was really friendly and her drinks were awesome

i wont go back though unless its a band i really like

Extremely dissapointed with their service provider Frontgate. I have been here once before to see my brother-in-laws band play there and I thought the venue was OK and the sound was so-so. Location is terrible on less you live in Clear Lake. It is a major drive otherwise. Beer selection is a bit weak and could be better. Prices are average.

Also:

I have to say I do not trust their service provider Front Gate Tickets. I would highly recommend that you buy tickets at the gate the day of a show. I would not use a credit card with Frontgate ever.

I have purchased tickets to 2 shows in the last month. (W.A.S.P. & Michael Schenker)

Both shows were canceled stating that I would get a "partial refund". I have yet to see the refund for W.A.S.P. and MSG was cancled hours before the show. I have had to contact American Express and dispute the charges and request an investigation to get credit for cancled shows. Extremely unprofessional and questionable business practices in regards to Frontgate.

Update: I received an e-mail from Bone Wilson, the owner of Scout Bar, and he offered to refund me the service fees that Frontgate keeps. This at the very least shows honor and intent to be a honest business person. He too is a victim of the financial imapct of cancled shows while Frontgate profits from it. I politely declined his offer to compensate me and explained that I don't want his Money, I want Frontgate's money.

Best place to party south of houston. This place is awesome..I worked there when it was called the Liquid Lounge..it has changed a lot since then but completely for the better. Its now twice as big, they book amazing bands and the owners are awesome.

Best live band venue on the south side of town. I couldn't even believe it when I was looking at the list of top live music clubs and Scout wasn't on it. I mean come on! And when your club's house band (and owners) are none other than Jeff and Tom of the Hunger, you know they made the venue right! Just walking in for the first time you'll think you've entered the Hard Rock Cafe from hell... except the momentos on this club's walls are from current revelant artists and not from bands of an era long ago. Many of they staff linger from older Clear Lake Clubs like Connexxions and and J Larkins, so that quality service still remains. And if your carefully, you just might notice a certain band's celebrity drummer behind the bar. The sound and light system is top notch and the crew can get the bands changed over in a snap. How Tom and Jeff get their hands on some of these hot bands is a mystery, but we're all grateful for them in doing so. And if that's not enough and you need a break from the live action, head over to the Red Velvet lounge for some top dance action. Keep it up Jeff and Tom! They still remember it's all about the music!

Great Place to See Live Bands. They get in some great bands that play a wide variety of music. There are two sets of restrooms, which is highly unusual for a club. The staff is great. The drinks are good. It can get a bit crowed when certain bands are playing but it is still well worth it.

Clear Lake's live music and dance club combo has a touch of downtown style.. In Short
This strip-center nightspot has a courteous staff and an unpretentious crowd. The main bar is in the front, where a respectably sized stage hosts local bands and few touring acts with local followings. A narrow doorway leads to the Red Velvet Room, which features dance music and a full bar. A back patio provides a respite for smokers and others needing fresh air or a late-night grilled taco. Cover charge most nights.
