I first went to the Good Space for pilates reformer classes because the University Club had closed down. Initially I wasn't keen on the Pilates I/II class but I gave the PIlates II/III class a try (with Melody as the instructor) and I loved it. While waiting for class to start, I would see all these people taking the S&M class so purely out of curiosity, I took a class. It kicked my butt. And I loved it. Pilates is wonderful for stretching and lengthening and toning but I needed a good cardio class without it being excessive or boring and S&M is the perfect class. I get irritable if I miss class because of work - I love it that much. Even if you're new, it's fine because everyone goes at their own level and pace. You don't have to follow along and be in sync like an aerobics class, you can modify it to your comfort level. Sadly, I don't go to the Good Space for pilates any more because I much rather go for S&M. It's helped my energy level and my butt defy gravity.

Pros: Melody is awesome, warm and inviting environment,

As a guy, I thought Pilates and Yoga was mainly sitting/ lying around stretching etc. However, one night I was early picking up my wife from her pilates class so I went in to wait for her and was really surprised to see all the equipment and the excersices they were doing...definetly getting a great workout and working up a sweat. I've been going 2x a week now for about 6 weeks and notice a big difference in my abs (I can see them now) and I don't seem to have as many little aches and pains as I used to... Only downside, if it can be called that, is you need to reserve your place in classes as they are usually full, however you can do that on thier web site no problem. Hope that helps you guys that think pilates is for wimps.
