I had never in my life been in a
tanning salon until this evening. I chose eclipse mainly because it is very convenient to where I live and I liked that it wasn't a chain.
I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. I guess I thought I would be greeted by the cast of Jersey Shore, but I found the staff very low key and nice and helpful. The place had a surprisingly kind of homey feel to it too - unexpected - maybe they are all like that, I don't know.
I used the cheapest tanning bed, which seemed to work. (I have an event on Friday and wanted a little color on my shoulders for the strapless gown.) But they showed me quickly all the other stuff they had. I'll probably go back and try the spray booth, because I do like to be a little tan, and I know the UV bed isn't good for me.
There was no pressure to sign up for their packages, all of which seemed like honest deals.
I liked the tanning salon, y'all! I'm so not a tanning salon kind of person, but I totally liked it!

Bad Spray Tan - Hands & Feet are very Orange and Splotchy. Feet and hands are embarrassing. Got this done for an event and not sure what I am going to do. Would not recommend this place.
The hands and feet are tricky. I'd like to ask a couple of questions. Did you do the airbrush or VersaSpa? Did you do it today? If so, have you showered yet (after 6-8 hours)? If you did the VersaSpa, did you apply the lotion to your feet and hands? We generally end up with great results and rave reviews, I'd like to see what we can do to fix you up. Also, please be aware we have a 48 hour free touch up period for airbrush tans to be sure customers are always satisfied. Great Spray Tan!. I got spray tanned here for a special event and I was so happy with the results. I always hated spray tanning in the booths due to uneven streaks and funky looking feet and hands. I was nervous to do this airbrush spray tan because you have to be naked in front of a stranger! EEEK! but she made me feel very comfortable and told me to undress to my comfort. She was very professional and sweet. I will always come back here for my airbrush tans! It's a little pricey, but you get what you pay for!

Changes for the Worse. I have been a customer at Eclipse Sunless Tanning for the past three years, and up until about a month ago, I would have echoed all of the amazing reviews. I used their versaspa spray on tan machine 2-3 times a month during that time. The staff was wonderful, remembered me by name, and were always ready to help. A little over a month ago all of the staff I had grown accustomed to were replaced by a new crew without explanation. The new employees are beyond rude. Last Friday I went in for a spray tan, and the machine was only spraying air and no tanning solution. I went out and told them and they told me to wait in the room while they remedied the issue. No problem. It was not their fault the machine was being temperamental. However, after waiting 20 minutes for them to fix it, when I got in the machine it proceed to splatter me with the dye instead of evenly distributing it. I tried to rub it in, and when I went out I told them about it and went on my way. I understood the problem, although they did not seem all that interested in fixing it. After going home, I had to take a shower and rinse off the spotted mess so it had been a total waste of time. This afternoon, I went back to get my much needed spray tan. This time only one of the nozzles worked. Once again I went out and told the woman. Instead of being helpful, she accused me of lying saying no one else had experienced an issue with it today so she did not believe me. I was shocked. It was quite obvious I only had dye on one side of my body. She told me to go back in the room while they checked it. Her tone was like she was sending a naughty child to sit in time out. I could not believe she was speaking to me like that so I went into the waiting room for a moment, and then I finally realized I did not have to be treated like that. I just told them to credit the session back to my account which they begrudgingly did and left. I proceeded to go to another tanning place down the street and they gladly fixed the mess for me. I have multiple sessions left on my Elipse Sunless Tanning account, but I am tempted not to go back. What used to be a wonderful business has been completely destroyed by their rude staff.
We regularly get great marks for courtesy and knowledge, so I sincerely apologize & hope you'll give us a chance to regain your patronage. I HAVE spoken with my staff about this.
We do hire add'l staff for summer, so you may see new faces. In the rare case of a malfunction, we rely on trained staff & certified professionals to service equip. For the safety of our customers, staff, & equip, we WILL ask you to step outside the room during service
Clearly, you did not have time to wait on the machine to be serviced (completely understandable), so we offered to airbrush you at no add'l cost or credit the tan back to your account (you chose the credit). Obviously, things did not go as smoothly as they could have. I think we have the BEST tanning salon in Houston. I hope you'll give us the opportunity to show you that again. Best tanning in Houston. Period. I've been a happy customer of Eclipse for over two years now. When I have the time to plan ahead, I LOVE the airbrush tanning. The new VersaSpa sunless tanning machine works great too if you're in a hurry. The staff is knowledgeable and extremely friendly. Heck, they even greet you by name as you walk in the door. I've never had such level of customer service at any chain tanning salons. The service, the equipment, and the cleanliness of this salon makes it my only choice for indoor tanning in Houston.
BEST SUNLESS TANNING. I wouldn't tan anywhere else! The staff is always very friendly and helpful. They give detailed explanations of everything so you always know what to expect. The products and equipment are all high quality and well maintained, and everything is very clean and welcoming! I would recommend Eclipse Sunless Tanning to anyone!! Happy tanning!!
An amazing business. Eclipse sunless tanning is by far the best place to get a tan in Houston. I've used their airbrush tanning many times over the last 3 years and I keep going back for more! My tan always looks amazing and I get compliments on it all the time. I've recently started using the collagen bed and am extremely happy with that as well.

Best spray tan in town.. Great staff. You feel welcome the moment you walk in the door. I have used them for spray tanning for over a year and have always had A plus service. The rooms are CLEAN and always equipped with fresh towels, etc. I think the few negative reviews you find here are mostly businesses trying to promote themselves over Eclipse because from personal experience I don't find them to be truthful. Good luck. I have tried many different places around Houston and hands down Eclipse is THE place to go for a gorgeous tan. I always receive compliments after I've been, even on day 1. Don't forget to call first for appointments. They do such a good job it's hard for them to accommodate a walk-in for a spray tan (call a couple of days in advance). If you don't have an appointment and are in a hurry, the booths are 10 times better than the Mystic ones. I was nervous for my first spray tan appointment because I'm usually pretty modest. No need to worry! They are so professional--you are made to feel extremely comfortable and the rooms are very private. You cannot go wrong with Eclipse. Bottom line- for that natural looking, long lasting, golden tan--Eclipse rocks.
Great tanning options & super staff!. I have been an Eclipse customer for several years and wouldn't go anywhere else. The airbrush tanning application is done well by every staff member. They do a great job of customizing the application for a client's skin tone and the season. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable about the products. I recently upgraded to a package that includes the tanning beds to get ready for a vacation. They patiently explained the different types of lotion and ultimately recommended a product that was best suited for me.
