“horrible service”
My most recent experience at Eric’s Car Care will definitely be my last. Most of the mechanics are good but the manager, Sam has lost my business, as well as many others that I know of, forever. I used to go here for every mechanical issue because I lived conveniently nearby. The last time I was there was for a radiator issue. While dropping off the vehicle, an argument developed between Sam and I because he felt as if I was going around the system and trying to get free work. This was clearly not the case as I was dropping off the car for the night so it could be fixed ON THE CLOCK the next day. The manager, Sam, proceeded to become very rude, to the extent of MOCKING me about my military service. Once I felt that he was taking it too far, I asked for the owner’s name and number in order to take the issue up with him. Sam tried everything possible to avoid giving me the requested information. He eventually wrote just the owner’s name on a card and THREW it to the ground for me to pick up myself. Keep in mind that there are other customers watching the entire thing. To top off the situation, he then walked away towards the garage door but before he exited he turned and SPIT back towards me, not on me. Regardless of what he and I were originally arguing about, his actions were extremely disrespectful and outrageous, especially as the MANAGER who is supposed to represent the company overall. If he would have just given me the owner’s number initially then I would have been on my way without any further issues. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SHOP TO ANYONE.
I attempted to have my car repaired at
this sorry excuse of a repair shop. There wasn't anyone in the office when I came in, so I had to go back outside and look for someone that could help me.
As it turned out, a so called manager named Sam was too busy smoking outside the office door to help. This despite the fact that a door bell had alerted the employees in the shop that someone had entered the office.
When "Sam" finally got around to waiting on me,
I attempted to explain a starting problem I was having with my Suburban. Despite numerous attempts explaining the problem, it was obvious that this individual was not qualified to work in a automotive repair shop, let alone understand simple English.
When I asked him if I could speak to a mechanic, he got irritated and he rudely informed me that there would be a $98 dollar diagnostic charge. I ended this horror story at that point. The following day I was able to get my vehicle repaired at a professional repair facility across the street.
Warning!!!! I wouldn't feel comfortable letting this individual put air in my tires.
shady place, they do every trick to charge u more..
I created this account here just to be able to write this review, this shows how angry I am with the terrible service at this place.
I had this problem with my stick transmission for a few days, I went to this place to find out why it is so hard to change the gear. They made me wait there for about 35 minutes just for a diagnose, and they charged me $60 for this diagnose. I was able to see, from inside the shop, that they just spent like 5 to 10 minutes on the car but they charged me for 35 minutes. finally they said the clutch master cylinder has to be replaced and it costs me about $460 for the part and labor. When the mechanic, Sam, was explaining to me I got this feeling that these people are trying to over charge me just because I am a girl and apparently girls don't know much about cars.
When I told him I am going to get quote from another mechanic his attitude got very bad, like "ok, whatever!!" I left this place and will NEVER go this shady place again!
The other day, I got another mechanic to check the car and he immediately told me what the problem is, it was the same thing about the cylinder but he didn't charge me for this at all. Furthermore, he just charged me $260 for parts+ labor. What a huge difference!,both in cost and manners. PEOPLE don't waist your time and energy at Erics , horrible service, horrible costs.
Best Car Place in Houston. I have been going to Eric's Car Care for several years and I have never had a bad experience. I have NEVER felt over charged and they ALWAYS call me before changing anything, even if they find something unexpected that needs to be replaced. I have asked for their professional opinion on the timing of a purchase and they have told me that I could WAIT on buying tires, shocks, etc. I'm sorry that these other individuals have had bad experiences- but I truly believe that they are isolated incidences. The staff is always professional and can give you a ride to your home or work place should you need to leave your car for an extended period of time. Definitely give Eric's Car Care your business! They are what my friend calls a "Houston Institution!"
I feel so ripped off!.
I went in for an oil change and needed to replace wiper blades. They changed my air filter without asking me, charged me for a million other things and din't even vaccum the inside of the car like other services do.
I wasn't in the mood to argue that day or waste any additional time there (they took an hour and more). I went in expecting not to pay anything more than $50 and walked out after signing off on a $107 bill. My husband is mad enough at me already, not to mention I feel incredibly ripped off.
VERY GOOD SERVICE. EVERY TIME I GO THERE I GET GOOD SERVICE WITH A SMILE! ANY TIME I NEED SERVICE ON MY VEHICLE THESE MECHANICS REALLY HELP ME OUT. IF YOU NEED GOOD SERVICE I RECOMMEND GOING TO THIS SHOP ! THERE REALLY HONEST & THEY ONLY SELL ME WHAT I REALLY NEED FOR MY VEHICLE. AND MY CAR DRIVES REALLY GREAT!!!!!!
THEY WILL CHEAT YOU!. They tried to charge me $400 extra for a fuel pump than anyone else charges. Even the dealership gave me a significantly lower quote than them ($300 less). They are constantly attempting to tack on additional "work" that you DO NOT need performed on your car. Plus, they charged me $100 just to tell me that the fuel pump doesn't work. DO NOT go here unless you have A LOT of extra money to waste. They wasted my time and money.
How about NO stars?. I wish I'd seen the other negative reviews here and via Google Maps for this place before going here. I went there for an oil change and to renew my state inspection sticker, and $71 later, I can only confirm that the state sticker has been changed. The worst part is that the car's steering wheel now shakes violently in my hands at low speeds, and feels extremely unsafe to drive. The car's steering was perfectly fine before I took it here. Will never return again, and would advise you to stay far away from them.
horrible service.
This place is all smiles in the beginning, but they will cheat you the first chance they get. I had a problem with my A/C and took my car there. They change one thing in my car, and send me off. The next day the A/C did not work again. Took the car back there again, and was told that the car is working fine and talked to me very condescendingly. It turned out the A/C was working/ not intermittently. They changed another part in the car without knowing if the part is working or not, and surprisingly, Charged me again!!!!
When I confront them, they would not give the money back. Cheaters! Don't take your car there! They are NOT good mechanics (can't fix my A/C) and they cheat! Let my experience be a lesson to you.
