On May 22,08 a friend and I went to Garden Ridge on Katy Frwy in Houston.All was great until we went to check out.One of the items from the clearence isle rang up incorrectly.I asked to speak to a manager and was told there was no manager in the store.After about 20 minutes an assistant manager arrived.This lady was very rude and told me basically that she thought that I had put the sale sticker on this item,by switching it fom another item.I was very insulted.I told her that this was completely false and that if she would look at the sale sticker she would realize that if I had removed this sticker you would be able to see some kind of tear and that wasn't the case.She picked up the item in question on started to remove the sticker.This really made me angry and I told her to leave the sticker in place.I was assured by her that I would not be getting the sale price.I told her that was fine,I wanted her boss's name and I was going to take a picture of the sales sticker on the item.She then grabbed the item and started to leave.I reached out and grabbed the item and told her that I still wanted to purchase this item.AT THIS TIME THE ASSISTANT MANAGER GRABBED MY ARM AND YANKED ME TO HER AND YELLED AT ME IN FRONT OF OTHER SHOPPERS THAT I WAS NOT GETTING THE SALES PRICE.I YANKED MY ARM OUT OF HER GRASP AND TOLD HER FINE BUT I STILL WANTED IT.THEN SHE PROCEDED TO PUSH ME TO THE GROUND AND TELL ME TO GET OUT OF THE STORE OR SHE WOULD CALL THE POLICE.I TOLD HER TO PLEASE CALL THE POLICE AS I WOULD BE FILING ASSAULT CHARGES AGAINST HER AND SHE WALKED OVER TO THE MERCHANDISE AND REMOVED THE SALES STICKER AND SAID NOW YOU CAN HAVE THE ITEM.I COULDN'T BELIEVE WHAT HAD JUST HAPPENED.NEEDLESS TO SAY I FILED CHARGES AGAINST HER AND I AM SPEAKING WITH AN ATTORNEY.Luckily there were many witness that were as taken a back at the display of anger and violance that 5 different individuals stayed with me and waited to give the police an account of what they had just witnessed.

My husband & I bought painted wooden rocking chairs from Garden Ridge. Within two weeks the paint begin to come off on both chairs. We paid $80.00 for each chair. We took the chairs back to Garden Ridge. The manager was rude. He stated that they were damaged and he did not take back damaged merchandise. They were not damaged, but defective! He would not take the chairs back, because he said that he could not resell them! So please be careful because if something happens , they will not stand behind their merchandise.
