Good Mediterranean – Very good looking restaurant and a large selection of Mediterranean food. Staff was ok, and there's a huge line around lunch time. Overall good experience.

Citysearch Editorial Review – Fadi’s is the kind of restaurant that can please a crowd. Kids are welcome, vegetarians and meat-lovers will all be well-fed and there’s plenty of elbow room for groups. The vast array of Mediterranean munchies is served cafeteria-style, with customers scooting their trays down the line of hummus, lemony salads, cheese pita and kebabs pointing at what they want. Combination platters are piled high and wholesome, which is what makes Fadi’s so popular on Sunday nights. Keep an eye out for freshly squeezed fruit juices and baklava at the end of the line.

Mother's Day Spot – I have loved Fadi's ever since I discovered it back in 2003. It was a place that my Arabic Club friends would brag about and bring samples to school. I introduced my mom to this establishment to help fill the void of me leaving for the Middle East and she was pleasantly surprised. I was able to tell her what I was experiencing as well as have her find the dishes that came to be staples for me where I was living. I have long regarded this place as a family restaurant used for feast days, celebrations, and a great place to take visitors to Houston. I am sure that I will bring my mother here for Mothers day, that is, if I don't cook for her instead. This pace doesn't accept reservations unless you are a large party, so make sure to go early before people get out of worship or dine for dinner.

Not Authentic Mediterranean Food – The fresh from the oven pita bread is out of this world. Fadi's also makes whole wheat pita which is to die for as well. The baba ghanoush is excellent and the cauliflower is like no other I have ever had. The cabbage rolls are wonderful, but only served on Saturday nights. A recent order of fish however had sat on the steam table so long it was dried out.

Like many ethnic restaurants, Fadi's has fallen victim to the unadventuresome American palate particularly prevalent in Houston, Texas. Sadly for aficionados of ethnic cuisine, Fadi's has become nothing more than a mediterranean Luby's. The cooked spinach with chesse comes straight out of a can and reminds me of the spinach served by my middle school cafeteria. The tabbouleh is nothing more than chopped parsley with very little cracked wheat, scallions and tomatoes. The hummus is a bland mixture of canned chick peas, some tahini and water. It desperately needs a serious hit or two of fresh garlic and some extra virgin olive oil. Frankly, I make better hummus at home.

It's a shame actually that a restaurant of this caliber has dumbed down otherwise good recipes for wide appeal and high profits. I prefer my Meditteranean food redolent of garlic and different spices. Maybe I should send Fadi's chef a copy of Paula Wolfert's book, "Mediterranean Cooking."

Amazing Pita Bread – We were pretty antsy to get out post hurricane and were crazing mediterranean! We saw reviews of this and were looking forward to it! As we approached, we saw that most of the block didn't have power and were hoping that they'd still be open! To our luck, they were! They were running on backup generators! Though, they didn't have their full menu up, they still had a great handful of choices from many meat dishes to several vegetable dishes. The hummus was amazing and their homemade pita bread is to die for! The staff was super friendly and helpful as we explained it was our first time there.

The aura was pleasant and seemed to have a loyal customer following. I definitely recommend trying out this tasty and friendly joint!

Pigeon inside Fadi's? Yes. – My wife and ate at the Fadi's on Westheimer and Dunvale. Everything was fine and tased good. Until of course my wife looked up and noticed a pigeon at the top the wall. We sat at opposite side from the line where you give your order. I walked over to the cooks and asked "Who is the manager?" He mentioned she was at the register so I walk to her and waited until she finished with the customer. I said, "There is a pigeon on top of the wall." She ignored me and started to ring up the next customer. I said, "There's a bird, a pigeon in you restaurant. It's like having a r@t in your restaurant." Well, she continued to ignore me so my wife and I left. We will noy be going back. It's one thing to have a pest problem, but quite another to act indifference and aloof when a customer advises you of a pest in your restaurant.

Inexpensive for the quality of food and service – Always fresh, delicious and very inexpensive food. For those who think this place is expensive, maybe you should stick with fast food which by the way is not prepared, presented nor as delicious as Fadi's. Portions are plentiful and everything I have tried has been superb. For two people (who do not mind sharing a plate) I recommend sharing 4 sides and each get a separate meat or fish. All staff is friendly and helpful.
