“Expensive steaks, glitzy decor do not a great restaurant make.”
“was a little worried about whether or not the sever knew about the fact that it was my boyfriend's birthday, but the hostess in charge must have let the server know, because when the server brought our creme brulee it said "Happy Birthday" in chocolate ”
“The coffee was very good.”
“The food at Vic & Anthony's was excellent and the overall experience enjoyable.”
“was disappointed with the wines-by-the-glass selection, though; the wines were generally very expensive, and the portions were skimpy.”
“Maybe going to have a drink at the bar to enjoy the place is good enough but I won't be going there or recommending this place to anyone.”
“My party was mislead and I will not return ever.”
“The food and service were excellent.”
“And the steaks are huge.”

V&A means Burger Friday at lunch, great local beer on tap and crab cakes. Oh and steaks, too. Fabulously decadent and luxurious, perfect for a date or your expense account.

Revered Houston steakhouse. It's great for groups - the sides can feed a family of five. The wine list is extensive, too.
Well I don't have a tip to persay. This place is awesome and I love it. If I were to say anything though it would be. Staff and Mgr's alike stop being so stuffy.
Exceptional. This is hands down the best steakhouse in Houston! The staff is super nice and the food is so delicious. They are a little expensive but definitely worth it! If you havent eaten here yet, I would definitely recommend doing so.
One of my FAVORITE steak places!.
I have yet to find a steak house that I can say beats Vic and Anthony's ribeye. There are a very few that "tie", but if I want a steak that won't let me down, it's here. The waitstaff is always knowledgeable about the wines they offer, and are always ready to help me make the right choices depending on which appetizer I want (which is usually the crabcake anyway....talk about LUMP crabmeat! The oysters rockerfeller are always a homerun too!)
I can't speak to other cuts of meat b/c I'm a sure thing with the ribeye, but the seasoning is just enough to make your mouth water. Like the rating says---RUN, don't walk!
Delicious Food. Mouth-watering food, beautiful ambiance, and terrific location! We went here for a birthday celebration and ordered the Filet Mignon. My goodness, that 9oz was spectacular and absolutely delectable! I honestly thought, being a petite female that I wouldn't be able to finish, but it was so scrumptious I just couldn't stop myself! The asparagus was perfectly cooked and the mashed potatoes were not bad either. Huge wine selection and desserts were incredible! Will definitely be returning!
Great Food!. I must say... Vic and Anthony's has the best lobster tail I have ever tasted! I think it was an Australian lobster.. I might be a little over exagerating but I can say I had a great dinner. Staff were nice, and our server was also pretty nice so no complain at all. It is a little pricey, and it all depends with what you order, but it is worth it! I will definitely go back, and absolutely looking forward on going back soon.
Major Disappointment. I hadn't been to a high-end steak house in a while so i had a craving. Grabbed my top 2 customers and headed to the consensus "Best Steak House in Houston". Unfortunately, that's not the way it turned out. Waited 20 minutes longer than the Hostess estimated for the table. Waiter was sweating significantly as he took our order. Appetizers and salads were fine but not overwhelming. My main course was the Ribeye - ordered Medium Rare. It arrived Medium WELL. I was planning to send it back after 2 bites but apparently the waiter went on break because he didn't return to our table for at least 20 minutes. By then, I had decided to go ahead and eat the steak because I was starving to death. When he did return, he never bothered to ask how our meals were. I told him at the end of the meal that the steak was way overcooked. He gave a quick apology, left the table, and brought the check about 10 minutes later. Full price, no comps, no coffee, nothing. As we exited the dining room, he said good night and "I hope you'll come back and allow us to get it right next time". I'm not kidding. Outback might have been a better choice!
Appropriate.
Went for the first time on Father's day with reservations easily had through their web page. We were promptly seated and served.
The steaks were appropriately cooked and marbled while the oysters Rockefeller were spot on. While I thought the quality of steak was comparable to Sullivans or Pappa Brothers, my dad thought V&A was better. Similar to Ruth Chris, they use quite a bit of butter and a tad of seasoning; I typically can go without the butter, but the steak was quite good none the less. The daily specials sounded delicious, but were overpriced. Side dishes sounded generic and bland -- we skipped them and added salads instead.
The atmosphere is upscale and a half-notch above the standard upscale steakhouses mentioned above. They have an excellent desert menu, with a wide variety of Cognac, brandy, and dessert wines.
Good.
I had dinner here last night with several friends. We had a very good experience with the food & service. I would highly recommend the au gratin potatoes & chocolate cake. I'm not big on sweets & typically don't order deserts, but the chocolate cake is great & will melt in your mouth. I would recommend Vic & Anthony's, but not the filet.
Iceberg wedge salad: 4/5
filet mignon: 3/5 - cooked right (medium), but dry & not flavorful
mashed potatoes: 4/5
au gratin potatoes: 5/5
chocolate cake: 5/5 - melts in your mouth
service: 5/5 - service w/ a smile
ambience: 5/5 - nice decor
Disappointing.
I ordered the two most recommended items by the waitstaff and was extremely disappointed in both. The crab cake was fishy and the bone in ribeye was fatty and had no flavor.
For the price I think the food is highly overrated.
Loved it!!!. My husband and I went to Vic and Anthony's to celebrate my birthday. We had reservations at 7pm but due to a family emergency we were running late. So I called to let them know we would be a little late and the hostess politely informed us that they could only hold our table for 30 min. We didn't make it there until 8:30 but the hostess still had us seated even though it was a Saturday night and they were clearly very busy. The food was excellent and worth every penny. I could cut my filet with a butter knife, au gratin potatoes are to die for, and for dessert we had the chocolate moose cake which is amazing.
