The Scene
The mouthwatering aroma of slow-smoked beef permeates this barbecue joint located south of Memorial in a tiny strip mall. Owners Kurt and Treca Craig ran Luling City Market for more than 15 years before launching this popular West Houston purveyor of Central Texas-style pit barbecue. Inside the massive, oak-door entryway lies a casual, open-kitchen dining room featuring wooden tables, a separate bar area, ceiling fans and TVs galore.
The Food
The savory beef brisket is inexpensive and seasoned to perfection. Other menu highlights include tender pork ribs, mildly seasoned beef sausage and succulent barbecued turkey breast, all served cafeteria-style by the friendly counter staff. Order them a la carte (by weight) or choose from among two-, three- or four-meat combination platters. Barbecue enthusiasts will approve of HBC's flavorful sides, including zesty potato salad and thick-cut coleslaw.

This is probably my favorite new barbecue joint. The sauce is awesome, and the ribs are pretty darn good as well. How can you not love a place where they serve your food on butcher paper?
Pros: Great sauce, good BBQ, good sides

To me BBQ is about the sauce and ribs. I like both here, my ribs were very meaty had lots of flavor. I like the sauce but may not be for everyone, it is central texas style. The prices are higher then some but all BBQ places are high now. If you like Luling city BBQ then you will like this place, if you dont then you will not.
