Disappointing food & coffee, desserts not bad.. After hearing rave reviews, two friends and I went out of our way to get to the Dessert Gallery. Sadly, we decided to order food, instead of just dessert. The menu looks impressive, but the wraps were rather disappointing. (Although the cake was nice). The iced caramel latte I got was a poor excuse for coffee. It was made badly and the coffee lacked any flavor. Although the decor is adorable, I wouldn't recommend it.
Great atmosphere! Everything is sooo good!. Tried the "Mom's Chocolate Cake" and the chocolate frosting just melts in your mouth. I also had the Vietnamese coffee, and was not disappointed. Thought it was a good twist of diversity from their menu. Every time someone comes into town I take them, and so far have not heard any complaints!
Best Italian Cream Cake in Houston. For my birthday, I was in search of the "best Italian Cream cake" in Houston; and I believe I found it. The service was great - I ordered online and received a call the next day to confirm the order. The graphics online look like the actual cake. I expected a two layer cake and the cake was three...exceeding my expectations. The cake was so good guests took cake home, and I almost did not eat a slice.
great place to grab dessert. love how they display their cakes for all to see - quite an enticing eye-candy feast, indeed. they have an extensive list of desserts - mostly cakes. it's a real sweet tooth experience and definitely a place to go if you are still hungry after dinner. the ambience is fun-loving and laid-back ... like visiting a fond childhood memory. surely won't disappoint! hint: also a great date place*
it's a piece of cake,. to bake a pretty cake. I've only tried the carrot cake, but it is the best I've EVER had. Huge, moist, and full of pecans. Good for special occasions (too expensive for evey day)
What a disappointment!. I heard about this wonderful new bakery with huge yummy cakes and wanted to try it out. I've been there 4 different times over an 8 month period because I hate to pass judgement on the off chance that I happened to have ordered the one thing on the menu that was bad. I have been consistently disappointed. 8..( I've tried about 10 different cakes -- not a pig, just brought friends so we could share and they were subpar. I don't think my standards are too high, they just all taste the same -- like sugared cardboard. Variety meant they added cocoa to the same recipe for chocolate and/or slapped on some flavored cream or icing. The nontraditional cakes were better but not fantastic either -- something I would pay $2 for at a supermarket when desperate.
dessert. The best fudge pie your mouth will ever touch; smooth slices melt in your mouth. This is always a must during the holidays. There are many desserts here that can be given out as great gifts; you will not be dissapointed.
best cake anywhere. All I can say about this place is every dessert is to die for. They have anything and everything sweet you could hope for. We always get a slice of cake but the cookies are really good as well.
Great Corporate boxed lunches, Best Service, Great attitude. I've been doing business with them for years. They are fast, friendly, and best of all the food is great.
Great environment. Every time I go to the Dessert Gallery, I spend twice the time there I intended! The environment is conducive to sitting around with a group of friends and chatting about anything and everything. It is made for hanging out and the cakes, while there is not a large selection, are excellent. The Dessert Gallery provides board games, which are fun at any age to play with a bunch of your friends. Being a Vietnamese person, I was impressed to see they had Vietnamese coffee on the menu. When I tried it, it was a little weaker than I expected but quite good. The decor is fun and whimsical, and I recommend this place to anyone who is looking to have a fun evening with friends or family.
