Had the worst dinner tonight, with son, at Sushi Rock! He ordered the spider roll and it was "stale" strange word to use but the rice tasted old and chewy the - what is it seaweed - that they wrap around the outside was tough and chewy and the soft shell crab was cold, chewy and soggy. I actually told the waiter and sent it back. The shaggy dog, which we have LOVED, was not up to their usual quality and the rest, with the exception of the soup, was sub-par as well. Too many sushi places in town go ever go back to Sushi Rock. Just thought I would let you know......we have been there 7-8 times and loved it. Seriously hoping not to get sick tonight.
Quality Sushi, Casual, Affordable. I blame Sushi Rock for making me an addict. I
Great Sushi, kind staff, good price. So this hole in the wall Pizza Hut building turned delicious Sushi place is awesome. I love the "shaggy dog" roll and the "sloppy j" roll. The fish is always fresh. This place rocks! It is close enough to the village that you can eat get full and then walk it off while shoping. The parking is great and the area is safe.
Below average sushi. Items being reviewed here are the typical sushi plate: salmon, tuna, white tuna, unagi eel, philly roll, and imperial roll. Here's the good news. The service was not so bad and was relatively clean on the inside. Here's the bad news. The sushi was cut thinly and the rolls were little, the type that you would get at HEB. The quality of the fish was not so bad but the avocados on the Philly and Imperial roll were hard like potatoes. Finally the check was expensive at $40 for two, with an order that has been $30 at Oishii's. Overall, for inexpensive good sushi on this side of town, I recommend Oishii's.
WISH I OWNED A SUSHI ROCK. This hole in the wall restuarant has a delicious menu and great service. it gets busy during rush hour but can be nearly empty during the day. Their spider rolls are consistently tasty, succulent, and large. You get six pieces with plenty of crab. The rest of the sushi menu is very good and I am sold.
Sushi Rock is AWESOME!. The service and food at sushi rock is amazing and all that you could ask for! The waiters will cater to your every need and order! Everyone there is friendly and welcoming. The Playboy rolls are to die for and their tempura is extremely tasty and delectable! The setting is very casual and modern yet you could still bring your kids! I love Sushi Rock!
dinner at the rock. I went to the rock because I heard good things about it. Although the prices are cheap, you get what you pay for. The sashimi pieces were small and not fresh. Maybe I just went on the wrong day.
I found the rock!. A friend took me here for sushi and I fell in love withit. The staff are friendly and quick to respond to your needs. The sushi is excellent as well as the Thai food. The price is just right for your budget as well!
Best sushi in town. I love this place. I have been trying to find a sushi restaurant near the medical center. I accidently came upon Sushi Rock. Their Playboy rolls are to die for. I recommend this place to everyone. The sushi chef is the friendliest chef around.
