Tips for Hse Medical Assoc

Dr. Ermac is a nice physician, but his nurse is horrible. They made a typo on my dosage of thyroid medication in my chart, so when I needed a refill, they sent in the wrong prescription strength. When I asked HSE to correct, because I was out of my medication, April interrogated me about where I last had filled a prescription for that strength and that now I would have to send my medical records from the last physician who prescribed that strength to the office coordinator at HSE. I'm furious now, especially since I take this medication daily, and have been out for past 5 days. April spoke to me like I was a drug seeker asking for pain pills. Never in my life, have I been treated so poorly by a doctor's office.

If you need a Doctor stay away from this group. what is the point of making an appontment when the office double or tiples the apointment time, this is the most uncaring office I have ever had to deal with, and when you complane the use " there was an emergency" I think that is what ER's are for. I would stay away from them.

what a joke. I have to take back this compliment. Totally.

My daughter was sick and I tried to make an appointment (good luck if you work or kids don't get out of school until 345) with them. Their latest appointment time is 3pm. Totally stupid.

When I show up, I forgot their insurance card with my wife, I explained that I have a picture I can email and they can print out as proof of coverage. Here is where it gets interesting.

They then proceeded to tell me that there is a "law on the books" that they have to have a physical card or they cannot LEGALLY do anything. I asked for paperwork on the law because I am in the healthcare industry. However the "paperwork" is just their policies in reaction to the red flag rule which is to protect the business against fraud. Apparently me being a patient and my daughter being new made me look like a scam artist.

So I rush to get the card because its now 3 pm and they don't see new patients after 3 pm, ever, and I do a little reading about the "red flag bill", not law, and find out that they in fact LIED to me.

So I call and tell them how dissatisfied I am with them lying to me and making me jump through hoops to help my sick daughter. keep in mind I pulled them from school to be seen. She said that it is their "policy" not to take a paper form of insurance. WTfreak does that mean? I said they could have called united and they would have been more than happy to validate the insurance and she replied "we don't verify insurance here" I asked why and her reply was "we don't have the man power". Funny because when I walked in there they have count em, TWO , patients checked in and their staff were all standing around talking about some program from the previous night. I argued with her when she said I was misinformed about what was said when I clearly heard her.

They are a bunch of LAZY, lying front office staff and frankly they don't deserve any business from people.

I am writing their Director and the BBB over this issue is disinformation they gave me. I will update once I get resolution from their office director.

It's a crying shame. They have a beautiful practice and great doctors. Shame their front office staff is the way they are.

Let me reiterate to NOT GO THERE.

I got better care in Luanda, Angola. This says nothing about the doctors. I never made it past the staff.

I made an appointment for last Wed (7/20). They didn't tell me where the office was. I just assumed that it was at the location published on the internet (this citysearch guide). I got there 20 minutes early only to find the office boarded-up and gutted on the inside. It was by luck that I happend to be driving back to the house and noticed their office sign on Barker-Cypress (~2-3 miles away from the published location).

Then I spent an hour getting confirmation of coverage (I didn't have my insurance card with me). At that point it was too late to see the doctor or have blood taken (I had fasted for the test). So, they rescheduled me for 9AM this morning (Monday 7/25). Another fast, I go in and am told that they can't see me without my insurance card. They didn't listen to a thing I said, disputed the fact that I had been given an appointment, I didn't even get a chance to tell them about the hour I had spent with a staffer (who, of course, was not there) confirming my coverage. It was like dealing with a small child who does not want to listen who has her fingers in her ears shouting "la-la-la-la" when ever you open you mouth. I did manage to get one word in "Maam, can you understand my frustration?" At that point she told me I needed to find another doctor.

Gladly. I would much racther find a doctor who is hippocratic not hypocritical.

ABSOLUTE BEST DOCTOR I HAVE EVER SEEN!. I called for an appointment and the office was extremely kind and personable. They called AHEAD of time to verify my insurance and when I arrived they had me in a room within 10 minutes. Once in the room, I decided to check my e-mail from my phone but sisn't even have time to read the 1st one before Dr. Ermac was knocking at the door. He came in, SUPER extroverted and friendly! He introduced himelf, pulled up a chair and talked to me like we'd known each other forever. He had GREAT people skills and maintained eye contact the entire time, unlike some doctors who stare at the paperwork the entire time. He carried on a conversation, making me feel really comfortable and actually listened to me as oppose to waiting for me to stop talking so he could talk or talking over me. Once our conversation had taken it's course he walked out for 5 seconds before returning with my prescription HIMSELF. He was EXTREMELY informative and spoke in terms I could understand as a person not in the medical field. After all my wuestions were answered, he personally walked me back to the front, introducing me to his fellow doctors in passing. I would refer ANYONE to him as he is THE BEST doctor I have EVER seen and I will never go to another again unless ABSOLUTELY necessary!

*ALSO...the office building is new and very clean.

Horrible Abusive Staff, Always long wait, Wrong Blood Work. My wife, I and my daughter have been going to HSE. The straw that finally broke our back was when my wife who was very ill, went in on a Saturday with an appointment time of 10:30. They opened at 9 am but she had waited over a hour to see the doctor. They were that behind after only being opened for 1 1/2. She had ask Keisha the nurse how much longer as and got a very un-concerning response and the door shut back in her face. My wife got up to leave and got "lip" from Keisha so she just walked out. She went back to ask for her records. she filled out the form and they said they would have to get the doctor's approval for your own records. My wife said she would pay the $25 when they had them ready. She was very ill and never got seen by the doctor and ended up going into the hospital 2 days later. Then yesterday she gets a letter stating they were "Dismissing" her as a patient. No concern from Dr. Perossa on her health nor any of her records were ever released. My daughter had gone there, and of course there is always a long wait and then was given a prescription that later her RA doctor told her it could have been deadly to her. My experiences have been always a long wait and they did not get blood work correct that Dr. Persossa had ordered.

The staff is very rude and non-concerning of the patients. When you sign in. they tell you to go sit down and then call you back up to the same window to collect your co-pay, then you wait to be called back and then wait forever to see the doctor.

You don't have to take my word on it but if you do go, I won't say "I told you so" !!! That is if you make out alive or without much higher blood pressure.

Awesome Doctor's & Staff. I called HSE for an appointment and got in the "same day" I called. The lady answering the phones was extremely nice and professional. She did not rush me as I was explaining why I needed to come in. Upon arrival, I was greeted with a friendly smile as I was asked for my insurance card and ID. She then gave me paperwork (2 easy pages) to fill out. When I returned the paperwork the sweet young lady asked for my copay. After returning to my seat, I was called back. They took my temp and weight and put me in a room. The nurse came in and asked why I was being seen and was very thorough in getting all the info needed. I waited about 10-15 minutes when the doctor came in....well worth that short wait. He was amazing!!! He listened to everything I had to say and addressed EVERY issue I wanted covered. I did not feel rushed in any way and he was very sincere.

Since that first visit. I have returned to HSE 3 times for follow-ups and have not had an unpleasant experience. I'm happy to have fabulous physicians & staff in the area!!

What happened to Hse?. I used to tell people to see Dr Ermac because he was a great doctor who would listen to your concerns but now I can't even ask a question before he's out the door.

I will have to find another doctor.

Appalling Front Office Staff. I scheduled an appointment with this office without first reading the reviews. Big mistake. I simply needed one immunization shot for my 2 year old son--how bad could it be? We were early for our appointment to fill out paperwork. I was given the usual paperwork and asked for my insurance card and driver's license. Very normal. After I completed the paperwork I returned to the front desk to retrieve my license and insurance card. I have a PPO plan that requires a $25 dollar deductible. The receptionist informed me that I must pay $125 dollars to be seen. When I told her that there must be some mistake she stated that she had checked my benefits and 'they are what they are'. I asked to see the printout in her hand. It was clearly NOTHING similar to the benefits that I have had for more than 11 years. I insisted that there must be a mistake and could she please call the Ins company. I waited in the waiting area for the results of her call. After waiting for quite some time without any news I approached the front desk again. I asked about the call, and without any remote sort of an apology, she dismissed her initial insurance blunder. She then curtly asked if I was visiting the area or moving. I mentioned that I would be moving again soon, not comprehending the reason for her question. (We recently moved to Houston from out of state. I still have my out of state driver's license because we are only renting while we house hunt. My husband and I had planned on waiting to get our Texas licenses for a month or two until we had bought a home that would be our new permanent address. I wasn't thinking about any of this when she asked the question.) She then told me that her office staff was quite concerned about me not being able to receive and pay my bill with an upcoming move. I'm not sure if she believed that I offered a bogus current address on my paperwork due to my out of state license, or what. Regardless, she actually insinuated that I intended to not pay my bill! What!? First of all, with my upfront $25 copay, that is all that is required with my PPO...my plan covers the rest. Second of all, have you ever heard of mail forwarding. I have. I use it every time that I move. I was so offended by her brazen presumptions. I cancelled my appointment on the spot and left feeling completly astounded. I will never again return to this office.
