In Short – Despite its strip mall location, foodies from Webster to League City now have a reprieve from local Italian restaurants offering Americanized fare. Babbo's cozy dining room features a large bar area with a TV for watching the game, as well as a few tables for more intimate dining. The authentic Italian menu is strong on pastas, specialty meat dishes and cream sauces. Try the penne with house-smoked salmon or spinach ravioli. Save room for dessert.

I read all the review here and can't believe the ravings about this place. Evidently, people don't know good Italiano from bad. We used to go to this mom and pop place back in MO and everything was WoW. I have been to big fancy rests. too and this place is a real joke. Maybe it is their family and friends who rave about this place...I don't know. BTW, our waiter was nicer to us than the cook and the manager. He told us after the bill came that it was his first day and he just didn't know what I wanted. This is what I ordered since not on the menu...Some type of seafood alfredo dish minus the calamari with mushrooms. Now how do ya misunderstand that? We went out for Italiano cause I can make it at home but not that great to my liking. I told my hubby at the Rest. that mine is better than theirs. That is saying a lot about mine and little about thiers.
We tried a different rest. out on Sat. night that Bill has been dying to go to. Babba Bruno here in Friendswood. First impression was this is a real fancy rest. when we walked in but later decided they are just trying to be fancy and charge the big prices. Won't recommend it to anyone. I ordered a like seafood alfredo minus the calamari since they love to push that dish and it reaks. Got a water sauce with calamari. Waiter apologized and left. I returned it of course and ate LiL BiLL's chix alfredo with him since it was way too much for him and he even had a doggy bag. The waiter did finally come back when he brought the check to ask if I wanted anything else and told him no. Bill paid the check. I then looked at it and said if ya don't say something I will. He was sick and said he didn't wanna deal with it. Good thing for them as he would have threw a fit. They charged $19.00 for my food that I took one bite of and had returned. I said ohhh no it wasn't the money it was the fact. Bill took LiL BiLL outside while I did the talking. They credited our card the $19.00 is all. They first sent out what appeared to be the cook after asking for a manager. I got home and couldn't believe Bill had tipped the waiter. I told him I wouldn't have. We tip accordingly to the service and usually tip good. If they are bad we tip bad since that is what they earned. I told Bill no more going there even if they do have escargo. He said his food was ok but not worth what they charged. He ordered the seafood ravioli. It came out real flat and he got about 6 noodles with very little sauce. Nothing else. I have always been served a salad with pasta. I like the Olive Garden but Bill doesn't so no more pasta for us I guess. He said live and learn.

PS- Service should be outstanding in a rest. like this and their food should be something to brag about. 1 unsatisfied customer can cost ya hundreds to thousands of dollars in business. Why take the chance. Treat every customer the same way. We do know our food. This post was sent to my many groups and they are saying thanks for the heads up won't eat there. Next time try to make it right no matter what.

do not eat here

"The food is too expensive. The service is horrible....apparently is their policy to insult their patrons by arguing with them and then make them pay for inedible food. The owner thought that we should not be comped for an appetizer that was inedible because she thought that we had eaten the whole thing. Her manager even told us that she had refused to comp other couples who thought their entrees were inedible. The staff does not care for the customer and neither does the owner. DO not go there unless you want to be insulted and then made to pay for that sort of treatment. We were even told that we had been explained at the time of ordering that the dish contained goat cheese and that apparently we did not know what we ordered because goat cheese is supposed to be salty and that we ate more than half of the dish according to them and that we just needed to pay..no explanations because "that is their policy"."
- Pros: nice ambiance
- Cons: rude staff/no customer service
I will never step foot in Babbo Bruno Again

I have heard that this place look good but the food was not so good. But I don't like to take other people opinions. This time I should have. I set up a meet and greet party a week ahead of time. Spoke to the hostess, bartender and I think the manager. They told me about their happy hour specials including 7.00 app. I was offered to use a area of the resturant that is sectioned off so that it would be easier to talk. I asked if there would be an extra fee for the room and I was told no. When we got there the owner would not honor the happy hour prices or the room. If we sit in the room no happy hour prices only at the bar. But the bar was not big enough for 20 people. He yelled at me saying "I can not give it away for free" Now of course I had not ask for anything for free, He also yelled" take it or leave it!" We left it and I will take my business else where too!!!
- Cons: Rude owner
