Editorial Review for Aquarium Restaurant – by Citysearch Editors
The Scene
Suits, sporty families with strollers and denim-clad couples file in for a bounty of bivalves and an eyeful of coral and stunning sea creatures. Beware of a no-reservations policy, long waits, and tourist-bus crowds at this Anastasia-like fantasy land. Be on the watch for scuba divers inside the tanks feeding fish.
The Food
The spectacular wall-to-wall aquarium view may outshine the surf-and-turf menu. Start with silky lobster bisque enhanced with sherry or the wedge salad. Lunch on a succulent and massive char-grilled mahi-mahi sandwich garnished with sun-dried tomato relish. Gulf red snapper piled with crabmeat and avocado pico de gallo sounds luxurious, but can taste bland. Similarly, thick, properly cooked ginger-pepper tuna steak in a light soy-butter sauce teeters on timid.
Hits: Try the tangy lemon-mango tart crowned with creamy coconut ice cream.
Misses: No reservations are allowed, making wait time bothersome on busy nights.

From what I had heard about this restaurant, I expected really good food and really good service. I was disappointed to have gotten neither. The food was mostly all fried and very bland. I expected good seafood, this was cheap, not fresh, seafood that was fried in way too much bland batter. As for the service, I would say that it was apathetic at best. One of the workers outside when we were trying to find the proper entrance was downright rude, and $6 for self-parking for the time it takes to eat a meal seems very high to me. The only thing that was good were the oysters. Those were fresh and very tasty. The aquariums inside do make a nice ambience, however, they are a dramatic let down from the pictures that are on their website. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Pros: Good oysters, fun ambience
Cons: Poor food, poor service, expensive parking

Hey folks. You gotta go eat here. You will enjoy the food and the underwater decor. Don't let the bad reviews stop you from coming to this restaurant. It is one place you will want to come back to again and again. Food and service were everything you would want from a good restaurant. Great seafood. Excellant pasta. Delicious desserts. Good everything. Convenient location. Decent prices. Great family dining place with lots of good Kodak moment opportunities. Hope to see you there next time I go back!
Pros: Everything was good.
