In Short – Founded in 1923, this locally owned and operated fast-food chain serves up hot dogs and other quick-serve favorites. Customers can choose to drive through, take out or dine in. The restaurant is best known for its Coney Island hot dog: a grilled all-beef wiener, chili, mustard, onions on a fresh-baked bun. I have eaten JCI since the 60's and still love their dogs! The Humble restaurant is always good and has nice people to serve you. Try a traditional coney with fries and a coke. MMMM...good! We've made it a tradition to go eat at this JCI on the 4th of July.
- Pros: dogs, fries and frito pies
- Cons: not for the health food fanatic

Great dogs, great burgers, decent service. The food seems freshly prepared and the kids loved it. There is no waiter- you must get in line and carry your food back to the table you select. That is the hard part- waiting in line with two screaming kids. But if you can get someone to sit with the kids and then help you carry your food back to the table you're good. Seemed to be a lot of older people who enjoy James Coney Island as well. Not as good as the local coney islands up in Detroit but as close are you're going to get.
