In Short – Covering 50 acres, this water park offers something for everyone. For smaller visitors--or those less adventurous--the park offers Kid's Kountry and the ever-flowing Guadalupe River Adventure. Bolder visitors can shoot the curls of the 500,000-gallon Wild Wave Pool or slip screaming down the Hydra Thrill Slides, three Zoom Flooms, the Blue Beast, Texas FreeFall and the Thunder Run Tube Ride. There is also an amphitheater, concert stage, picnic areas, volleyball courts and food court.

Closer than Schlitterbahn

by Mb2923

We love Schlitterbahn, but with gas prices we can't afford to take our child there every single week. We purchased season passes and have been twice this week. What I do not like is the clientele that is out there. Splashtown can't help this, as cheap prices attract certain types of people. The food is over priced. There is also ALOT of theft out there. You need to watch everything you have. My husband purchased a pair of sunglasses and literally had them for 10 minutes before someone came and unzipped the pocked of his swimming trunks and stole them right at the lockers in plain sight! Another lady also reported stolen sunglasses, along with a man who's wallet was stolen/lost at the same time we were speaking to the guest services people. The park doesn't give a care about their theft, as their security poo pooed everything we said away. There are FAR too many people in the park, and I suggest they expand. The place looks like Astroworld did, and they at least renovated every so often. The lines for the rides are too long and there are too many people in skimpy bathing suits that are older than I am and bigger. The park though, has alot to do and we enjoy it. You will probably be annoyed with the amount of people, as it is impossible to even visit the lazy river or the wave pool without being kicked or bumping elbows with someone.

ghetto waterpark

by Technoviking

This place has a cheaper price than Schlitterbahn and you'll see why. People with gunshot t shirts, looking like they are there for a bath will swarm the place. It's very crowded. When I first got there I was in a kiddie pool warming up when I noticed I didn't see a filtration system....nasty water.

The rides are unique, Texas Twister and Space Shuttle ride are very neat. They did seem to have a sufficient lifeguard staff. The kids like it best, but they didn't see what adults see.

If your dying for a waterpark in Houston try it, but your best bet is Schiltterbahn.

  • Pros: rides
  • Cons: water cleanliness, people
