“personally, i see nothing special about this place - yes, the food was good (it will satisfy your palette), but not spectacular (it didn't seperate itself from all the other restaurants similar in theme), and the ambience was not quite the south american ”
“The tres-leches dessert cake is so rich and moist I was almost tearful with pleasure!”
“Good food, bad adult drinks!”
“The side dishes are also scrumptious.”
“It is a limited menu of interesting dishes in a self serve type atmosphere.”
“not a great place to bring a date, more of a family type atmosphere or a big group of friends to celebrate a birthday.”
“We thought about returning but my brother had a similarly bad dinner there said he never plans to return.”
“Well, the food was terrible and the service was worse.”
“My parents were in town and love Churrasco's, so we told them that this was a convenient, inexpensive, mini-Churrasco's.”
“Consistenty great food, beautifully presented, and in a great "quick food" format.”

Fast South American fare from the Cordua family. The Amazon Burger is great. Self serve plantain bar is a plus.
Disappointing and overpriced. Disappointing is a very nice way of describing my recent visit. Having been pumped up by a friend who had never been there but had heard good things, I was hopeful of finding a new spot and was further hopeful by the brandishments of several "Best of..." awards. I should have read those "Best of"s closer, because my food would not be Best of anything. I ordered the Mixed Grill and inquired if there were Bell Peppers in the dish. The cashier had to check and reported there were only some on top. When I requested they be removed, she complied, but it took a couple of minutes to finish up on the computer. I was pleased when I got my meal and saw no bell peppers on the meat, but was less pleased when bell peppers showed up in the escebeche (though they werent listed as an ingredient) and the giant mound of rice also tasted of bell pepper, as well as more cilantro than I would use in a year. I guess the staff member who took my order doesnt eat there, since the menu is not extensive. The chicken and beef appeared to have been "grilled" on a flat top and tasted like the frozen fajita meat found in grocery stores. The two shrimp and one slice of pineapple were grilled and quite tasty, so it was nice to have something to enjoy. I held out hope that the Tres Leches cake I ordered would be a saving grace, but it was not to be. It tasted like a plain white cake beefed up with extra baking soda to be extra fluffy and then dumped in sweetened condensed milk. This concotion was then generously covered with a huge amount of extruded store bought marshmallow cream. My friend had pecan crusted tilapia and while the fish was nicely cooked tempura-style, the pecan crust was a big pile sitting on top of the fish. There were also other issues: no silverware, plaintains were greasy and bland, the plaintain bar itself a mess and the fountain drink tea dispenser was water. This is not a place I will return to anytime soon.
Best Breakfast.
I went to the Amazon grill for breakfast, and i had the best coffee, the best empanadas ever!!!!!! My wife had the omelet which was divine.
My 2 kids had waffles with strawberry and of course they got cotton candy. The only thing i would change is to have the breakfast all week long not only Saturdays and Sundays. I will definitely come back.
P.s: Very helpful & friendly staff.
Best Food in Houston.
You need to go and check out the Amazon Grill in Houston Texas on Kirby Dr.
Robert the Manager and his Team is outstanding!!
If you haven't experienced the Amazon Grill then you need to stop what you're doing and head on over. The food is out of this world, and you'll love the prices!! You must try for desert the tres leches, or the smores. The service is first-rate, and fast.
Perfect weekday dinner location. We dined here after receiving a $25 gift card from their sister restaurant, Americas, after dining there on Valentine's. This appeared to be essentially the same menu, except without the elaborate decor of Americas, and obviously you order at the counter instead of a server coming to your table. Hence the prices are quite a bit lower in comparison too. And self-serve plantain chips. Those things cannot be good for you, but I can't stop eating them, and I love the pesto sauce. Mojitos are good, atmosphere is as expected. Appeared to be a great place for club meetings - we noticed several separate larger groups with nametags and such. Will definitely go back soon.
Very Poor Customer Service.
I called the restaurant asking if they still have the happy hour and what the specials were (I have been many times before, but not for approximately a month). The person related they did and had peppers, pitas and chips. We arrived and all they had were the plaintain chips. I asked the manager, Anna, and she said the happy hour was Mon-Fri. I told her it was Monday and she said Uh-Oh. It was 6pm. Good thing we hadn't ordered entrees yet. We all left. And we were very disappointed - see below!
I am extremely disappointed that the salad bar is gone. We would have preferred a cost increase and kept the salad bar. This was a very POOR business decision and the four of us will not return. It is akin to a Mexican restaurant deciding to no longer offer chips. They will lose business and so will your establishment. This decision should be rescinded and you should revert to the salad bar. PLUS: I filed a comment and the customer rep related that management would be contacting me...not a word yet!!! I returned once to see if things changed and found the food to be of a poor quality. I will NOT return.
Good, well priced Brazilian style food!. This place has good Brazilian style food. The prices are good for this type of food. Not on the same level as fogo but, good. The only thing is the adult drinks are undrinkable, they put too much lime juice in all the drinks. If you like cold lime juice for $4 buck, SOLD! Good food, bad adult drinks!
gotta love it..
This place has great food, a great location. I Loved it.
I felt as if I was taking a tour of the great river itself.
no beef!. This place is terrible. The day I went I ordered beef fajitas, and they said they were out of beef. I couldn't believe my ears. Out of beef? In general, no beef at all? What kind of mismanaged restaurant oversells beef? Maybe out of some weird type of sauce, but to run out of a staple in half your foods in unacceptable. If you want good tex-mex, go to armando's instead. It's pricier, but worth it.
Trailer Park Heaven. Amazon Grill? This restaurant is truly what I call a Houston typical restaurant. Build it and they will come. Exactly just build a restaurant that looks great from the outside and people think that the food and service is as good as the cover. Well you are wrong! This restaurant aka Cafeteria, is a joke amongst food conneiseurs. Bad food, freshness is questionable, ambience is terrible sounds like a theme park with all the people screaming talking, and kids running around. The restrooms are dirty, the service is run like a Burger King joint, and the meat served is nothing but low grade meat. This is a joke and I believe the people dining here are too. Tank Top wearing, Armpit showing, shorts wearing, beer bellied clientelle. Just by looking at the clientelle did I lose my appetitie. The food is overcooked especially the bean soup, the salad bar is disgusting, as well as the area where to fetch the plantain chips. Kids grabbing chips with their hands, eating straight from trays. Parking is terrible. cleanliness is extremely questionable. Just another Marketing Scam. If you have no taste and no class, this is the place. If you want ambience, a true enjoyment of food this is not the place.
Good food. The Amazon Burger is great as well as the Latino and lets not forget about the Margaritas which are $3.00 during happy hour =)
