Always good!.
Tired this chain for the first time in NC. Was glad when they started appearing here in TX. Though more casual that the first I went to, the service & staff is always on the job. Great wines, good selection of fresh seafood, specials & other home town favs.
Kids menu is a nice selection to keep a wide age range happy.
BEST Seafood Ever!!. I love seafood and this place has to be the best seafood i've ever had! The atmosphere is awesome, the decor is trendy, and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. They always give great service and the food is the best seafood i've ever had! It's always fresh, and tasty. The prices might be a little high, but you definitely get what you're paying for. I highly recommend this place if you want delicious quality seafood.
I prefer this location. Its on a good part of 1960, the view from the side of the restaurant is cool The food is fine. The staff is attentive and friendly. I prefer this one over the woodlands location.(read my review on that one as well!)
Who doesn't love the darling of Texas seafood chains? The food is so popular, they offer takeout by the quart..
In Short
Pictures of fish highlight the cabin motif, but sleek metal barstools and touches of neon temper the feel. Daily chalkboard specials cater to both surfers and turfers. Mexican shrimp martinis dangle shrimp cocktail in salsa, and pecan trout sizzles under honey lemon butter. Melted gouda spinach dip whets the appetite. Pot roast, skinny onion rings, and Key lime pie satisfy it.
Great food at a great price!. Rockfish is great - the atmosphere, the food, the prices, and the variety. On the weekends, they have live music which consists of a man playing guitar and singing. This can make the place a little noisy though. The tables seem a little crowded and there isn't much space in the waiting area, however the place is generally pretty open. I went on a Saturday night and it was pretty crowded, we had to wait 20-30 minutes before being seated and the service was a little slow refilling drinks. I ordered the eight not-so-shrimpy-shrimp grilled and it came with rice pilaf and veggies and was under $11 which is very good for seafood. I'm a pretty picky person so I loved the section on the menu where you can pick from a variety of fish, shrimp, or chicken and tell them whether you want it grilled, blackened, or fried. Everyone is bound to find something they like on the menu. The Southwestern Caesar salad is also good as well as the bread pudding. One major drawback is the parking. Rockfish is located in a strip center with shops and other restaurants so you may have to park a little farther because it is pretty busy in the parking lot. I will be back soon to visit again!
Good economically priced seafood. Good quality seafood in the Willowbrook-Champions area at a price anyone can smile at! The service was excellent when we went. Atmosphere is not as romantic as many of the places downtown or in Montrose, but for a more casual night out Rockfish is a great choice. Will definitely return.
Overpriced special. As one of the first customers when this location opened , I was very disappointed in the special offered on Mothers Day 2007. The item was halibut, the portion was 3 inches by 3 inches and the price was $18.00. We ordered two. Further, broccoli as a side dish was old and in flower with long stems and very overcoooked to mask toughness, therefore inedible. Quality of fish was OK. Manager tried to explain away the broccoli error and made numerous excuses for the poor quality and appeared rather unconcerned and unwilling to replace the broccoli. Has this place changed hands? I won't write them off yet as I think they were overwhelmed and short staffed and understocked for Mother's Day. Sometimes you do not get what you pay for. I allow everyone a second chance, but only one.
Finally, food my husband loved!!. My Husband is very picky about his food. Finally we found a place that has great food. We were so satisfied. That was one of the best nights out with him in a longtime!!
My New Favorite Restaurant. I love to eat out for seafood, but I hate the high prices and the choice of fried this or fried that which so many of the seafood chains offer. Rockfish is such a refreshing change! Try the Shrimp Martini, and go for the Seafood Enchiladas. Both have shrimp, shrimp and more shrimp. There are so many original choices on their menu that there is something for everyone, and the prices are excellent for very good food.
