Recently the place got a fresh coat of paint outside and some of the trim on the inside. OK, so much for a renovation. LOL. In the meantime, the crew here ranges from pretty friendly to just plain stupid. I know, I know, this isn't Morton's steak house and you do get what you pay for. On the other hand, to the extent that franchise restaurants ought to live up to some sort of minimal standards, either this location is failing in that regard or Denny's can no longer be counted on to deliver a reasonable level of cleanliness and furninshing. Don't get me wrong, I've been going to Denny's restaurants for years all over the country and most of them are at least passable. And, to be fair, the food at this location is reasonable. However, the property is really run down and FILTHY. I'm no expert, but my guess is they have been using the same dirty rag to clean the tables and chairs for several years. I mean, you can't make this stuff up. The tables are, to be kind, sticky. Ditto for the seats. What's more problematic is that after pointing this out to one of the managers, she told one of the busboys to clean the table (I speak Spanish, too) and he sort of smeared a FILTHY rag around on the top and she declared that it was now just fine. I wouldn't let your dog eat off that table.
Known for its breakfasts, this diner chain slings all-American grub and bottomless cups of coffee..
In Short
With its kid-friendly vibe, booth seating and late-night hours (most stores are open 24 hours), Denny's draws night owls, seniors and families with kids. The menu sticks to classic American staples: wings, chicken strips, burgers, salads and the like. But breakfast is king, with specialties ranging from skillets, egg scrambles, French toast platters and several variations on the famous Grand Slam: two buttermilk pancakes, two eggs, two bacon strips and two sausage links.
