No Service. Don't ever attempt to use the drive-through at this place. I was promptly told to "hold" after pulling up to the speaker, where I proceeded to wait for 6 minutes. After ordering and paying, I waited an additional 24 minutes before giving up and driving away. I honked the horn and waved when people passed the window, but no one would acknowledge me as a paying customer. 30 minutes at a drive-thru?? Also, when I called the restaurant later, they insisted that I could only get my money back if I came back to the restaurant. Taking people's money and refusing to wait on them is fraudulent and kind of evil.
Great Seafood for the Price. I have been a near-weekly customer at this location for the past 2 yrs. I have never had a problem with any of their seafood. I usually get the fried seafood; it is fried to perfection. The grilled shrimp is also good. Can't beat the price, either!
BEST IN TOWN. There is a baytown on murphy road that is awsome, the food is not only inexpensive but great tasting..My friends and I eat here at leat once a month..The Mexican Shimp Cocktail is sooo good! you gotta try it.
Feeling Cheated on changes in portion. I have always loved this resturaunt. It is a whole in the wall. The side dishes have never been that great, but their fried and grilled seafood used to be very delicious and generous in proportion. Recently it is clear that they have started to cut corners with giving large shrimp in place of jumbo shrimp and miniature scallops in the grill seafood platter. The fish is also tiny. I used to love them for their soft shell crab now it is not worth the trouble.
No-frills seafood joint where great prices reel in bargain-hungry customers..
The Scene
This local chain of cheap-but-good seafood joints aren't much to look at, but ordinary folks flock to them for affordable platters of fried shrimp and grilled fish. Huge squeeze bottles of tartar and red sauce adorn the utilitarian booths and tables. Pink neon fish rim the dining room, a small concession to decoration. Expect civil but harried service as the wait staff and kitchen hustle to keep up.
The Food
Nothing fancy. Traditional deep-fried shrimp, oysters, catfish in all manner of combinations, along with boiled crabs and crawfish, are the most reliable items on an expansive menu that also includes such oddities as octopus cocktail, chicken fried rice, stuffed jalapenos and quail. Boudin balls, gumbo and etouffee add a welcome Cajun note. Most of the basics are available in super-large orders--for example, 40 fried oysters, 30 jumbo shrimp, 20 pieces of catfish--for groups wanting to dine family-style.
