A wonderful vineyard to visit. I planned a girlfriends trip to Houston and one of the days we decided to drive to Haak Vineyards & Winery. It was a very beautiful quite area. We absolutely loved this place and would definitely come back.

Pleasant afternoon trip. On a Sunday afternoon, we decided to go down to Haak. The vineyard is quite a ways off I-45. The building exterior is lovely. Inside, there's a very small gift shop & wine tasting area. For $5, you get to taste four different wines. The samples are VERY small, a little more than one sip. Certainly the samples need to be larger. The winery tour is short. The "tour guide" had poor diction, rushed through her script, and was not very audible. That needs to be improved. I would like to try their live music/dinner events, but it's a ways from Houston, and it would involve driving quite a ways after dark and a few drinks. Worth the drive for a pleasant afternoon, though.

Terrible Food, Way Too Pricey. My husband took me here for Valentine's Day. He made reservations for the dinner as a surprise. Neither of us are wine drinkers and were trying to find a wine that we would enjoy. We took the tour, which I'm sure would have been much more enjoyable when the grapes were in bloom. The wine tasting was not "free" as someone stated in one of their reviews. It was $5 for the tour and 4 tastings, which was reasonable. We actually tasted more of the wines so we paid a little more. When we went to dinner, it was downstairs in the cellar with a nice atmosphere and music. Our first course was a salad, which consisted of leafy greens with a Vinaigrette dressing that was OK, not great. The main course was Beef Wellington and mashed potatoes that was not very good. I didn't finish mine and waited on dessert, thinking it would be better because the couple sitting next to us had gotten their's and it looked delicious. I'm not sure what it was, but it was gross. It was some kind of thin wafer cookies with a chocolate mousse stuff in the middle and some kind of cream on top. It just did not taste good at all. Then the bill came. Over $100. I wanted to throw up. I don't mind paying that much for a good meal but this food was horrible and there wasn't much of it! My husband and I had been to Pappasito's the night before and had Lobster Tail, Shrimp Brochette, Beef and Chicken Fajitas, with beans and rice and chips and salsa...all of this for only $45 AND it was delicious! Not to mention we were full and couldn't eat all of it. I would go back to the Haak Winery for the wine tasting but NEVER for the food.

A Great Winery To Visit. I have gone to "star gazing" and many other events at the HAAK Winery over the past ten years. Every single time I have gone there, I have taken many different friends with me; and all of them have RAVED about the the wine, the music provided, the ambiance of having a picnic and great wine while looking at the stars. I could tell you you of many more stories. I have taken several of my grand children with me to many events; and they have had so much fun picking grapes, hearing the music, and playing with other children. This is truely a family orientated winery. Every single person working there has been more than helpful.

My wedding. I had my wedding at the winery on June 28. You will see a review from a member of my bridal party. The review is accurate but applied to one employee that did not do her job (who was let go after the fact). First of all, my wedding was wonderful. The wine was great, the food was wonderful, and a really enjoyable time was had by all. We did have some issues leading up to the ceremony, however, when this all came to light to the managers and owners of the winery, they apologized, welcomed comments of criticism on how they can improve service in the future, and offered my parents as well as the groom and me some services in apology. I feel that the things that went wrong were rectified. They now have a new events manager that will do a wonderful job. If you are looking for a unique and wonderful place to have your wedding, I definitely recommend the Haak Winery. It has a great atmosphere and ambiance and they have many wonderful events throughout the year. Go see them!

Horrible Service!. I was part of a wedding party for a ceremony and reception at Haak. I was awestruck by the incredible lack of service. The 'wedding coordinator' didn't even come to the rehearsal. She was no where to be found during the set up for the event and she came to inform the bride that she would be leaving early because she had a long day, RIGHT BEFORE THE BRIDE WAS SUPPOSED TO WALK DOWN THE AISLE. Despite the lack of service the wedding was very fun and the bride and groom were happy.

Sample Texas-made wines at this elegant vineyard just 10 miles from the Gulf.. In Short
This working winery proudly produces some of the area's finest award-winning vintages. Visitors can tour the 3 acres of grapevines, crush pad, bottling and corking area, and a 1,800-square-foot cellar with wine barrels. Tours run continuously throughout the day and include free wine tastings. Browse the gift shop and deli for more homegrown goodies and then find a picturesque spot on the picnic grounds to enjoy the Texas landscape.
