Real Southern BBQ. I love this place every time I go. They have great sandwiches and I never leave the place without getting the potatoes. Also, free ice cream!

THE BESTT BBQ. well, im a regular at brookstreet bbq and this is why...first of all its really clean and its kept up well...the employees are all very nice and considerate and if rarely anything goes wrong or its not to your satisfaction they are always willing to compromise and make you happy. the food is GREAT...i love barbeque but honestly i dont trust any other place...you can see them prepare your meal right infront of you. the prices are very reasonable with extras on the side like free icecream. the environment is clean, friendly and fun with country music playing in the background. The manager is almost always there and he is always walking around seeing if everybody is ok and enjoying their food. They also have a big screen tv for your viewing...on special occasions they are still open when everything else is shut. The lines sometimes can be long but its worth it. They also do big catering jobs n etc. Anybody that hasnt been here is truly missing out on houstons best bbq!!!

Where's The Smoke?. There's always seemed to be a long-standing fued among barbeque connoisseurs. What makes good barbeque? Smoke or sauce? Having been raised in the "bible belt", good barbeque has always been a passionate subject among my family and anyone else willing to involve themselves in the debate. As I grew older, I decided that good barbecue means tender, smokey meat with the sauce being nothing more than a condiment. When I arrived at Brookstreet, I noticed the lack of savory mesquite or hickory smoke filling the parking lot. I didn't think much about it until I took a bite of my chopped beef sandwich. While the meat was tender, I found the flavor to be lacking and detected only the slightest hint of smoke flavor. What I had was chopped beef on a burger bun drowned in lots of sauce. My finace's sliced beef plate was the same. Lifeless, smokeless slices of beef with the coveted "smoke ring" unsurprisingly absent. I theorized that their meats are not smoked on the premises and if they are, I'd almost assume that the smoking time is brief and that the larger cuts of meat are finished off in the oven.

On the flip side, the sauce was better than expected. I'm not a fan of the thick, molasses-laden, gravy-like sauces that many places serve. I feel the sauce should compliment the meat, rather than cover it up since anyone can chop up beef and slather it in a heavy sauce and call it barbecue. The sides are your standard barbeque joint fare with nothing truly remarkable about them. Despite my lackluster experience, this is probably the better alternative to most other low priced barbeque restaurants in the Sugar Land area. The atmosphere is relaxed and kid-friendly.

Best BBQ around!. The beef here is so lean yet incredibly tender and full of flavor. They have free soft ice cream for the kiddies and free wifi for the adults. The owners and staff are A-class, hospitable and friendly. Try the fried okra side or the baked potato casserole... to die for. Top it all off with some homemade cheese cake or peach cobbler, yummy! Everytime I leave this place I am stuffed to the max. They also have a big screen tv for your viewing pleasure.

Brookstreet - best in Sugar Land. Great barbeque! Try the ribs, they are tender, moist, and lean. The sides are better than most places around town also.
