“Great tropical atmosphere just like a Cancun cabana bar, decent friendly service, great bar, Whats the problem?”
“Awesome gumbo and crab cakes with yes.”
“Not yiour neighboorhood friendly bar they will harrass you , then call the cops to get you locked because thats what they like doing , NOT THE PL:ACE TO GO if you want a clean record, Go to Baker Street or Berry Hill for a GOOD TIME NOT HERE”
“This is a great place to meet friends, sit out on the deck and enjoy the weather, but the food is something that you can not count on.”

“Ok, the service was the worst can'teven hear yourself think.”
“the grilled chicken looked good but not worth $12.95.”
“not to mention the super slow service.”
Avoid this place. The service is Terrible! If & when you can attract a waitress, they take forever to bring your drink order. (better off going to the bar and getting your own). Your food order, if they don't lose it, is likely to be wrong. Also, be sure to pay as you go; if you run a tab, and if you leave before the others in your party, you're likely to find the last person at the table stuck with EVERYONE's tab, even if they paid before leaving. I told the manager that we would not be back. The first time we were there, we were double charged. This time, the order was incorrect, the service was abominable, and even the manager was a waste of time. We were there both times for good-bye parties for friends changing jobs.
I will never go back to Sam's Boat.
They must not do background checks for their staff or checking of having a mental history! This place was once was on my list of places to eat and drink but when the employed Bouncer got rough and pushed me out the establishment for no good reason only because from what I understand is they made last call at closing and i didn't hear the call and was writing down a phone number of a really kool chick that i had met while enjoying myself that night and was violently attacked by this "A" hole who evidently was over stepping his employed purpose for this company and I never received an apology for being roughed up for no good reason what so ever from this really big guy!
And still to this day Sam's Boat I will never forget or forgive what you put me through that night with your staff's poor judgment with the job given to ?him? by y?all!
Typical Sugar Land bar.
As one of my other posts for the Richmond Sam's Boat mentioned, Sam's Boat used to be THE place to be at whether it was a Tuesday night or Sunday afternoon. Then they opened the one in SL and so most of the lame Sugar Land suburbia crowd (you know old white guys who talk about golf all day while showing off their vettes to 18 year old waitresses) started going to the SL location. Soon more patio bars opened and Richmond kind of died and so Sam's Boat just became another watered down patio bar with a lame cover band.
The only reason why I went to Sam's boat last weekend was because I was meeting some Missouri City friends there and either they don't know any better or they just like being around fellow suburbanites who have lived in their parents' house all their lives but I don't see what the big deal is about this place. Sure the fake lake overlooking the interstate looks nice but it's just a bar. *yawn*.
Editorial Review. Drinks, seafood, and Tex-Mex are served up next to interstate 59 and Fountain Lake at Stafford's version of this raucous port-of-call.
Bad service, Bad Management. Several friends and I had lunch at Sam's Boat in the Fountains recently. After ordering the seafood gumbo and eating more than half, I found a small piece of wire in it. After telling the waitress and showing her the wire she wasn't very concerned. I asked for the manager and she also wasn't concerned and a little abrupt with us. We're people in age ranging from 30's to 40's, not teens trying to cause trouble. The manager didn't even say "I'm sorry". I won't be going back there along with the people that were with me. Bad service, bad management. The appetizers we orderd before the incident were also overcooked.
San Antonian loves Sam!. WOW! I dig this palce! My girlfriends and I had a blast on Sunday! Kristian the manager is a tall drink of water! Awesome gumbo and crab cakes with yes....CRAB! I hate cakes that are all breading $2 frozen rita's all day! I just moved here from San Antonio and I have found my new spot! The fountains and deck are second to none. Only one band thing, the band was too loud for us but Mr Kristian fixed it and made them turn it down! Great seafood! Great drinks! Sam...I'm sold! See ya next week!
Disappointed. The service was absolutely rude. We had to go to the bar and get our own drinks! BAD!
WOOHOO. This is the place on Thursday...ROCK THE BOAT. Outstanding drink special...ask your server about buying the glass, you can bring it back every Thur. for cheap refills. Weather permitting, there is a band outside and dj inside, if it rains oh well bring the bands inside. Sat. and Sun. bring your Margaritaville t-shirt and hang out on the patio. Mon. is karaoke night...say hi to Donavan he is the funniest karaoke dj! Tues is $2 (ALMOST everything) you call it! Attractive staff girls and guys! They remember you and your drink after 2 or 3 visits.
What a shame!. Great tropical atmosphere just like a Cancun cabana bar, decent friendly service, great bar, Whats the problem? THE FOOD! Come on guys, this may fly in the midwest but in a costal city like Houston we expect freash seafood FROM THE GULF! not frozen crap from the East coast, We expect fresh from the kitchen gumbo, not something from a can. Its a shame that all that planning went into the decore without giving a second thought to the menu.
Party on the deck. This is a great place to meet friends, sit out on the deck and enjoy the weather, but the food is something that you can not count on. I don't recommend the stuffed jalapenos for the appetizer, there wasn't any stuffing - very dry. Oh, and don't bother trying to find any service personnel on the deck, get up and get your own.
