“We've never had a problem with "Bad food" here.”
“great place to eat for both individuals and the entire family.”
“The staff and management are always friendly.”
Great for an inexpensive healthy meal. Amazing! I had to do a double-take at the review written by Babyboomer46 to make sure I didn't write it earlier, since I too am a 1946 Babyboomer. I couldn't have said it any better. My sentiments exactly. For a number of years after this restaurant opened I tried to get my wife to try it. Being a meat and potato person, she continually resisted. Finally. she agreed and now it is her favorite place to eat. We usually try to dine here 1-2 times a week and for about $20 dollars, we get a healthy and nutritional meal. I have yet to try any of the soups, pasta, or bakery items that didn't taste great. As for the reviewer that prefers the Willowbrook location, I have ate at that location a number of times and even though I never had a bad experience there, I think The Woodlands location is much better. The staff is much more friendlier and since my wife has been confined to a wheelchair the past several weeks, they can't do enough to assist her. Definitely Thumbs Up and Much More!
Healthy Eating, Great Management, Priced Right!. My wife and I eat here regularly. There's an ample selection of healthy foods for any member of the family. I "Check" out places we choose to eat carefully. The staff and management are always friendly. The food is fresh and tasty. The soups (8 different in all) are always nourishing and tasty. One of the soups was almost empty. I notified an employee behind the counter and within only a few minutes it was refilled. We've never had a problem with "Bad food" here. The manager came to our table and asked if everything was ok. It was! A great place to eat for both individuals and the entire family. Two thumbs up!
I choose the other location.. We live closer to the Willowbrook location but also a bit near this location. So we decided to visit. Last week we visited the Willowbrook location and it was amazing. I found that the Woodlands location was not what I would expect from this part of town. The salad bar was unorganized and a little bit messy. I believe that Sweet Tomatoes (all of them) are way overpriced for the small variety of foods that they offer. At this location there were only two kinds of pizza, lasagna pizza or cheese pizza. The soups *as usual* were old and solidified. I'm not too keen on the pastas that they offer so I just had a tiny bit of macaroni and cheese. The milk machine *which I'm grateful for* was just about empty. The manager came around and asked if we needed anything and I alerted him about it. He went to the kitchen and got me a glass of milk. The type of people eating here are also not very clean, as I saw one child running his hands through the mini ice cream cones. Let's just say I didn't have ice cream today. From now on I believe I'll strictly stay at the Willowbrook location.
Healthy Eating!. After a hard workout at 24 hr fitness next door and with hunger pangs setting in, I visit Sweet Tomatoes to get a veggie-fix with a double plate of creative salads, a couple bowls of soup, a dish of pasta, a couple of hunks of dense bread, and topped of with a couple of grapes and melon slices from the dessert bar. A substantial meal that is nearly vegetarian (with the exception of the chicken soup and pepperoni pizza) that leaves one satisfied, satiated, but not bloted with excessive protein and fat and without a hole in the wallet. I figure I can have a $50 meal for eight bucks and not trash my coronary arteries at the same time!
Tasty and affordable chain near the Woodlands Mall takes buffet dining beyond the basic salad bar..
In Short
This sprawling California-based chain offers salad, soup, pasta and homemade bread for reasonable prices. The salad bar includes dressed salads (Caesar, chicken won ton and country-fresh), side salads (pesto pasta, coleslaw and more), plus a variety of greens (romaine, mesclun, spinach) and dozens of toppings. Also find chili, baked potatoes and a variety of soups daily. At the hot pasta bar, ladle penne or fettuccine with Alfredo, marinara or Italian sausage. Save room for the dessert buffet.
