$4 margaritas for Happy Hour. I've been to this Cafe Adobe a couple of times for happy hour before catching a movie at the Edwards Imax. It's literally across the walkway, and with a nice deck on the 2nd floor, you can have happy hour and do a bit of people watching on a not-so-hot and humid day. Happy hour has decent drink specials - the $4 frozen strawberry margarita was big hit with all of my girlfriends. The happy hour food is typical small plates Tex-mex, some guacamole and chips, some fried stuff, nothing spectacular but typical bar grub. (Note that happy hour food specials are only available at the bar upstairs).

On my second visit I was surpised at how busy the restaurant was on a rainy thursday evening. We were seated in a dark corner of the sprawling space, not too much ambience, but the waiter did his best to offer us great service and was very attentive overall. A for service. The chips were a bit greasy and not so crispy, but our appetizer was good and the beef, chicken and shrimp fajitas we ordered were surprisingly very good and tasty! I'm not really big on eating at chain restaurants, personally, but this one is one of the better ones I've been to. It's a great option if you are headed for the movies, as evidenced by the bustling dining area full of people grubbing hungrily on better than average tex-mex.

Mediocre food, horrible staff. The Cafe Adobe at the Marq E location is good for parties but the quality of food is very mediocre. The fajita meat was so-so, it tasted like roach coach meat. The wait staff was okay, she was very attentive but the hispanic hostess that sat us was beyond rude!

She took off with the menus and didn't even ask us to follow her. She just gave us a glaring rude look. Then we said we wanted to sit outside and she gave us another rude look. When I asked her if there was a problem, she didn't say a thing but just gave me yet another rude look!! We did absolutely nothing to her yet she had the worst attitude. We will never patronage that location again, for the simple fact that when you first walk in you are greeted by a very rude, bad attitude hostess.

Bad Food - insect. Decided to have lunch prior to seeing a movie at Edwards Theater, ordered lunch lifted up the taco and saw an inspect with it legs in the air dead on my plate. This was disgusting. The manger came by and said he had comped the meal (would not have paid any way) and continued to tell me he had sprayed for insects twice last week, but sometimes this happens, there is no excuse for this type of filthiness. Will never eat at this restauratn again.

Menu description is lacking, food made me ill due to lack of disclosure. Most of the menu at places like this have spicy things (which I have a pretty severe allergy to), so I ordered the following: "Traditional Shrimp Salad: Traditional shrimp salad served with lettuce, tomato, avocado and monterey jack cheese...9.99" Now, that would imply like a normal, regular salad, right? The "SALAD" is shrimp and celery tossed in what looks like mayo. Kinda like a tuna salad? Maybe? Total ew. But I figure, eh, whatever, I'll just be disappointed and never eat this again.

It's spicy. I realize this after eating a couple bites. I go back, ask for a menu. No, I'm not crazy. It's listed as a normal salad, says nothing about being tossed in some sort of sauce, and doesn't NOT say anything about being spicy. I ask for a comment card. They don't have any. I ask them what makes it spicy. I thought maybe horseradish. It's Tabasco! I talked to a manager. Explained, "I have severe allergies to spicy foods and sauces. That's why I ordered a salad."

The manager, "Ohhh man. Yeah, that's too bad. I'm sorry that happened. But, if you have allergies, why didn't you ask the waitress if it had tabasco?"

"You guys never listed it was tossed in anything... So why would I think this was anything but a normal salad? At a place like this, I usually have to eat only green things because they're not spicy, you know?"

"Yeaaah, I don't know how we can fix this. When we reprint the menus next, I'll make sure it's been changed."

...OH MY GOD. I've been feeling ill now since I ate it. I'll probably be up all night. And on the way out, my family hear him talking to our server (who I didn't tip, but I left a note explaining why).

"I don't think she liked how I handled the situation." Are you kidding?! I am so so so careful about my dietary needs. That's why I was going to order a salad.

Am I out of line? But isn't a traditional salad green lettuce, with stuff mixed in? SERIOUSLY.

Great Food, Service,Price. My boyfriend made reservations to go on Valentine's Day, when we got there they seated us right away. The place was very nice not too fancy but not simple either, its the perfect place to go dressed casual but get really good food and the prices are affordable. As soon as we sat down our waiter came over to take our order, they had a three course meal special, we were hesitating on getting the special being that it was Valentines Day but it looked so good we decided to get it. For an appetizer we got the cheese spinach Dip wich had a little bit too many onions but still tasted good, for the entree we ordered the "carne asada" and for dessert we had the strawberries dipped in chocolate. The food was excellent and all through out our dinner the waitstaff kept asking if we were ok, my boyfriend was about to ask for a refill when he looked to the side and saw a seperate glass already filled with his drink, it really impressed him of the great service. In the end we made the best decision by eating there.

Editorial Review. Tex-Mex specialties accompanied by award-winning margaritas are served up to casual diners in the cafe's warmly adorned Spanish dining room and tropical patio.
