A neon-lit trip back to the Eisenhower era comes with burgers, shakes and fries. – In Short
Vintage Coca-Cola ads and posters of Life magazine covers succinctly summon up the 1950s, as do this diner's mini-jukeboxes, red vinyl counter stools and sock-hopping staff. Besides fast food staples like hot dogs, cheeseburgers, tuna melts and onion rings, options like the Streamliner (a grilled veggie patty) acknowledge more modern dietary concerns. Even better for kids, sandwiches come wrapped in paper jackets and nearly everything is served on paper plates. No spills. No breaks. No tears.
Neat decor and theme, but that's about it – At the Sugarland Town Center location:
I cannot say our first impression was a good one as it took a very long time for our party of 5 to receive our food. In fact, when we did get our food everyone else in my party had already finished their meal before I'd ever received my burger. The person waiting on us explained they were short on staff that day and that the reason my food was being received so late was the result of a computer error. I was not too pleased with continued excuses why my food had not arrived so I requested I receive fries free of charge. When I finally did received my burger it was fine and was accompanied with the fries. I'm not sure if the service problems were associated with the waitstaff but most likely I'd attribute them to poor management of staff on-hand that day, especially for a Saturday. I hope service improves the next time I visit there if I ever do. I'd certainly recommend Red Robin over this place anyday as you'd received much better food and definitely better service.
Most greasy disgusting filthy restaurant ever! – At the Katy Mills location: We waited forever for our food, it was greasy and tiny for the money, the waitstaff all seemed new, and poorly managed. The place was greasy from tables, to floors, to the walls. The entire waitstaff had khaki pants that were all wet and black at the cuffs which signaled to me how filthy the kitchen floor grime is. We waited forever for our check and there was a huge line at the door for the hostess to seat more guests. We were just glad to leave.
not so much – another over rated california copycat. below average food, with high prices.
