Editorial Review for YMCA – by Whitney Friedlander
In Short
The first U.S. branch of the YMCA started in Boston in 1851; there are now more than 2,500 locations nationwide, making it the country's largest nonprofit community service program. Each YMCA reflects the community it's in, offering differing services based on the area. Most include fitness areas with aerobic equipment, classes and racquetball and tennis courts. Many also have day care and after-school programs, as well as summer day camps.

On having our daughter removed from our home we were referred to Success by Six by our CPS social worker Theresa Isadore. The people at Success by Six are absolutely the best teachers in the world! My husband I not only learned stress and anger management, but we also learned about being purpose driven and about nutrition not just for kids but for the whole family. In fact the purpose driven class helped me to discover my purpose in life and that is to be the best I can be to not only my family, but in everything I do! The thing I like most about the class is that we can return at any time we need reinforcements.
Pros: Caring Staff, Inexpensive (Free), Follow up as needed
Cons: some disruptions, few clients needy, anger was big poblem
