“Who can beat great drinks, fantastic food, and funny people trying to sing!”

“The waitstaff at the Stag's Head seem quite attentive.”
“The have good beer specials, but I'm not sure I could say it's worth the service I've received.”
“Very friendly staff, quick drinks and food.”
3 cheers for The Stag!. When I walk into the Stag's head, the bartenders, and often the waitresses, will call out my name. By the time I sit down, my beer is in front of me; cold and waiting. The manager will stop by and chat. I visit with couples who come there regularly. Sometimes I listen to the music; other times I make new friends (lots of good-looking ladies) and talk all evening. The atmosphere is friendly; easy to chill in. The food is great. THIS IS WHAT A PUB IS: where everybody knows your name and what you drink. Am I a celebrity to deserve this star treatment? Get real! This is just a cool place full of great people. This is where I take my clients for a business lunch (GREAT) or visit at night to have a good time and not have to yell to have a conversation.
Beat place in Houston in years. I don't know what some of the complainers in the ratings are saying. I suppose if you walk into this place acting like you have a stick shoved (you know where) maybe you will get service of the like. The waitstaff at the Stag's Head seem quite attentive. Maybe, the fact that they will take the time to have a coinversation with you stops them from getting to others as quickly. This is really a down to earth bar. I guess the the pretentious types should just go somewhere else. Keep up the great work and keep the beer flowing...
Take it from an expert.... It's tucked in the corner of Shepard Plaza where Portsmouth meets Sandman St. I don't know what a "traditional English pub" is supposed to look like, but this place is exactly how I imagine one would be rich, dark wood furniture and panels everywhere, brass fixtures, dart boards, intimate candle-lit booths, and a square bar at the center of it all. I'm there AT LEAST once a week. The bartenders are the best. Waitresses are cute. Top-notch service. Delicious food from burgers to English-type things like fish-n-chips or sausage rolls -- they even have freakin pizza! And oh yeah beerrows and rows of beer taps -- an unprecedented selection of draught beer. Other negative reviews? Yeah, I know free speech. But it's crap. Ive been going for over a year. Ive had nothing but good times and met lots of nice people. Go see for yourself. Go on. Its good.
I like it---don't read this go!. Love the waitresses, but the servie was slow because the bar was really crowded. Otherwise, I would give it a 10.
I wish I would have know.... The Stag's Head was such a great bar. Great Draft beer selection, great drinks at a resonable price. The pub is in the Shepherd Plaza on Richmond and S. Shepherd Ave. Stop in and have a drink.
Beer and Karaoke!. This place is great! I met a couple of friends there and had a blast listening to people try to sing karaoke! The bartenders always had another drink ready and waiting for me before I was finished with the one I had! This is our new Thursday night hang out! Who can beat great drinks, fantastic food, and funny people trying to sing!
The Stag's Head - Where rutting is alway.
I love this place!
I recently stopped in with some friends on a sunday afternoon drinking really good imported beer in large glasses for two bucks and change! In addition to achiving a quality buzz, we mingled and made friends with interesting people - Brits, bartenders, professors, engineers and a few local TV celebs. (Who was that playing kissy face with Lisa Foronda in the parking lot?)
We were there long enough that we had to eat... to ward off the pain of the following day. I had a bacon cheeseburger that was out of this world! And if all that wasn't good enough, two differnt guys asked me out! And they are BOTH EMPLOYED!
Nothing Like it in Houston!!!. A confortable and trendy place to meet people and relax. The Pub has been set up to cater for all needs and tastes.
Best New Pub -10. Great new authentic pub - very buzzy, great atmosphere, lots of ladies
Best new pub in Houston. The Stags head has to be the most genuine European pub to open in Houston in many years. A great find will be back again as soon as possible.
